Telex M. N. Ngatched received a B.Sc. degree and a M.Sc. degree in electronics from the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon, in 1992 and 1993, respectively, the M.Sc.Eng. degree (cum laude) in electronic engineering from the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa, in 2002, and a Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, in 2006, where he was a Postdoctoral Fellow from July 2006 to December 2007. From 2008 to 2012, he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Manitoba, Canada, as a Research Associate, and from 2012 to 2022 with Memorial University. He joined McMaster University in January 2023, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests include 5G and 6G enabling technologies, optical wireless communications, hybrid optical wireless and radio-frequency communications, artificial intelligence and machine learning for communications, and underwater communications. He was a recipient of the Best Paper Award at the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference in 2019. He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with the Professional Engineers Ontario, Toronto, ON, Canada. He serves as an Area Editor for the IEEE OPEN JOURNAL OF THE COMMUNICATIONS SOCIETY, an Associate Technical Editor for the IEEE Communications Magazine, and an Editor for the IEEE Communications Society On-Line Content.
