I am researcher at the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) of South Africa, specializing in anaerobic digestion, microbial ecology and environmental biotechnology. I obtained my PhD in Physics at the University of South Africa. My research focuses on valorizing biomass and optimizing the microbial community dynamics of the anaerobic digestion process to enhance the circular production of biogas and digestate. I am actively involved in training, mentorship and supervision of postgraduate students, and I have authored multiple peer-reviewed book chapters and journal articles. I also participate in collaborative projects pertaining to microbial community analysis and applications in anaerobic digestion and agricultural systems.
