Based on the three dimensions model of sustainability, different studies that address the integration of the culture and sustainability concepts from a theoretical field propose that culture should be included as another sustainability dimension to a greater degree. This approach has not been put into practice to date. In fact, when sustainability application is examined in cultural activities such as museums and exhibitions, in most cases it is associated with only one dimension and evaluation methodologies based on a holistic approach; the Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) is used in very few cases. In this work, a methodological framework is proposed to add the cultural dimension to the study of the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability. A sequence of phases in line with the LCSA methodology is used to achieve the simultaneous evaluation of impacts associated with a sustainability approach based on four dimensions. A thorough literature review revealed cultural indicators, which were classified and organized in order to facilitate the cultural impact assessment and complement the indicators already used to evaluate other dimensions. Additionally, the approaches and methods proposed are put into practice in a case study, which consists of an experimental exhibition room. The different phases of the methodology have been successively developed, and indicators for all sustainability dimensions have been obtained. Thus, the theoretical contribution of this work is embellished with the development of a practical case, which demonstrate that cultural dimensions can be evaluated together with the rest of the dimensions in order to obtain a multidimensional assessment of sustainability.

The sustainable design of product systems has been addressed in numerous research works. However, studies regarding the sustainability of services are fewer and they are focused mostly on the study of environmental aspects during the service provision stage. Regarding cultural services, the application of sustainability principles in their design process is increasingly required due to reasons such as environmental awareness, social responsibility, visitors' preferences and innovation strategies. Although up to date a limited number of initiatives have been promoted. The objectives of this work are the description of a specific sustainable design method based on the development of systematic tasks and supported on three complementary approaches, and the application of this method to the design of two different types of cultural exhibitions. The design of an itinerary exhibition, which is developed in a sheltered indoor space, and an exhibition, which is developed in the streets of a big city, are, respectively, carried out. The sustainability performance of different design alternatives are valued in each case by analyzing the incidence of those systems, activities, and stakeholders involved along the entire service development and using not only environmental but also socio-economic indicators. Thus, this research work aims at providing the appropriate methodological support to designers of cultural services and managers of cultural institutions, to carry out more sustainable projects.

This article analyses the development and use of a 3D simulator and the installation of a fixed camera as technical and creative tools at the ETOPIA Centre of Art and Technology in Zaragoza (Spain), a facility that emerged as part of the "Digital Mile" technology district and which sought, among its objectives, to integrate technological innovation with artistic expression, especially through the building's media facade. The implementation of a remote simulation and monitoring system that facilitates the preview of content, optimising its subsequent broadcast, is detailed. In addition, the technical and conceptual challenges faced by artists in the use of this hybrid medium are examined, highlighting the works presented during the 5th Ibero-American Congress of Culture in 2013. The article evaluates the impact of the project in the cultural and technological field, emphasizing its contributions to digital art broadcast on media facades and its potential to redirect urban narratives in a context where smart and smart city prevails.
