Although the quality of prenatal attachment is a strong predictor of the quality of postnatal mother-infant attachment and mother-child interaction, little is known about the specific impacts of maternal exposure to childhood traumas, and it deserves more attention. This study was conducted to determine whether there is a relationship between childhood traumas and pren1atal attachment levels. Prenatal attachment and childhood trauma were evaluated in 104 pregnant women using the Prenatal Attachment Scale and Childhood Trauma Questionnaire. Our results showed that all kinds of childhood traumatic experiences were associated with lower prenatal attachment scores. Also, more severe childhood traumas were strongly associated with weaker prenatal attachment. This study contributes to the very limited literature on the prenatal attachment of expectant mothers with childhood traumas by emphasizing the importance of pregnant women's exposure to childhood traumas as a risk factor for low prenatal attachment.

OBJECTIVE: In this study, the hormone profile, lipid profile, and inflammatory parameters of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome were compared with those of non-polycystic ovary syndrome patients to determine predictive markers in young polycystic ovary syndrome patients who have not yet had children. METHODS: Patients' age, height, weight, body mass index, waist circumference, degree of hirsutism, and ultrasound findings were recorded. Hormone profile, lipid levels, ratio of complete blood count parameters, monocyte/high-density lipoprotein ratio, and total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein ratio were compared between groups. RESULTS: No statistically significant differences were found between groups in terms of age, weight, waist circumference, body mass index, and dysmenorrhea (p>0.05). A significant relationship was found between the height and the degree of hirsutism in the groups (p<0.05). It was found that prolactin, total testosterone, and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate levels were statistically significantly higher in the polycystic ovary syndrome group compared to the control group. The polycystic ovary syndrome group had hemoglobin, leukocytes, lymphocytes, neutrophils, platelets, and statistically higher ratios of total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein, Low-density lipoprotein/high-density lipoprotein, and triglycerides/high-density lipoprotein. No statistically significant relationships were found between homeostatic model assessment insulin resistance, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, and monocyte-to-high-density lipoprotein ratio between the groups (p<0.05). There was no significant difference in systemic immune inflammation index values between the groups. CONCLUSION: Polycystic ovary syndrome patients are at risk for short-and long-term complications, and the use of thetotal cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein, Low-density lipoprotein/high-density lipoprotein, and triglycerides/high-density lipoprotein ratios in clinical practice duringthefollow-up of these patients may allow easy follow-up for patients. The health status of polycystic ovary syndrome patients can be objectively determined by tracking these outcomes at regular intervals.

En tr Purpose: Regarding changing trends in the policies affecting perinatal and neonatal care, there is a need to assess the stata of pregnancies in adolescents and women of advanced age with the term of ten years. We aimed to evaluate maternal, fetal, and neonatal outcomes of pregnancies in adolescents and women of advanced age during last decade in a tertiary referral center of Sivas province in central Anatolia. Methods: In this retrospective study, we collected the maternal and neonatal data from the hospital electronic records of 414 adolescents (10-19 years of age), 428 women of advanced age (≥40 years of age), and 150 pregnant controls (20-39 years of age) who delivered in the obstetrics unit of our tertiary referral center between 2011 and 2020. Results: Obstetric and fetal outcomes affected from women bearing children early or late stages in life. According to our results, rates of one or more parity, cesarean section, gestational hypertension, and acute fetal distress in the women of advanced age were significantly higher than those in the controls (p34 gestational weeks in the adolescents were significantly lower than those in the controls (p<0.05). Conclusion: Our findings support the improving perinatal and neonatal statistics of pregnancies in adolescents and women of advanced age (≥40 years). Nevertheless, there is a need further advancements in healthcare conditions and awareness of mothers and healthcare workers about pregnancy related morbidities and mortalities and applying educational and training programs.
