He has a scientific career centered on marine biology and conservation. With a Ph.D. in Sciences from the University of Málaga, he has been a researcher in marine species and conservation. He has held key roles such as the Technical Office Coordinator for the Spanish Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 2015 and a Researcher and ICT Advisor at the University of Málaga since 2005. Additionally, he serves as the Coordinator of the Scientific Committee for the Aula del Mar Mediterranean Foundation. He has contributed to the scientific community with 95 research and outreach publications, including 18 indexed articles. His research spans various topics, including jellyfish population estimation, sea turtle conservation, and the impacts of climatic indices on marine life.
