Video surveillance systems obtain a great interest as application-oriented studies that have been growing rapidly in the past decade. The most recent studies attempt to integrate computer vision, image processing, and artificial intelligence capabilities into video surveillance applications. Although there are so many achievements in the acquisition of datasets, methods, and frameworks published, there are not many papers that can provide a comprehensive picture of the current state of video surveillance system research. This paper provides a comprehensive and systematic review on the literature from various video surveillance system studies published from 2010 through 2019. Within a selected study extraction process, 220 journal-based publications were identified and analyzed to illustrate the research trends, datasets, methods, and frameworks used in the field of video surveillance, to provide an in-depth explanation about research trends that many topics raised by researchers as a focus in their researches, to provide references on public datasets that are often used by researchers as a comparison and a means of developing a test method, and to give accounts on the improvement and integration of network infrastructure design to meet the demand for multimedia data. In the end of this paper, several opportunities and challenges related to researches in the video surveillance system are mentioned.

The Internet is a public network with many issues of data transfer security. Steganography is a data transmission security technique that is done by hiding the message in a container media, such as an image. The media certainly has its limited payload to accommodate the embedded data. This paper proposes a method for increasing the payload of secret messages in an image. The edge area is used to accommodate more message bits because the image edge area can better tolerate pixel value changes. In this research paper, Canny and Sobel detectors are combined to get a wider edge area. This two-detector combined method provides a larger edge area for greater payload of messages while maintaining imperceptibility of stego-images.

Transactions between countries require a stable exchange rate. When the exchange rate of the country experiences uncertainty, then this will influence the company’s financial performance and even affect the company’s market value. This study aims to look for the direct influence of the company’s financial performance as an independent variable and the firm value as a dependent variable within the investor perspective, also including the exchange rate factor as a moderating variable. Investors could probably learn about information on the ups-and-downs of the Indonesian rupiah against foreign currencies before their investment decisions, even though financial performance substantially influences the company’s market value. The sample in this study was 50 companies within four years of observation. Data processing was carried out by the Eviews statistical application. The results showed that the financial performance, which is proxied by the capital structure, affects firm value, but not profitability. The impact of exchange rate moderation also occurs in the relationship of capital structure and firm value, while the moderation effect on profitability and firm value is not proven. This study provides information that exchange rates influence investment interests upon investors’ analysis of the financial performance of the capital structure, but not profitability.

Objectives: This study aims to identify the factors that shape sustainable halal tourism, taking into accounts sustainability and religious morality as the main variables, thus as part of the world endeavours to encourage the Sustainable Cities and Communities. Theoretical Framework: Sustainable halal tourism integrates Islamic values with the principles of economic, environmental, and social sustainability. This concept aims for equitable economic growth, sustainable environmental management, and the preservation of social and cultural values in tourism development, while adhering to religious morality. Method: This study is quantitative research using the SEM-PLS method. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale and were analysed by using the SmartPLS software. This research was conducted at Asta Tinggi Sumenep, East Java, Indonesia. Results and Discussion: The results of the study showed that four variables, i.e. religious morality, economy, environment, and social aspects contributed positively and significantly in shaping sustainable halal tourism. This means that these four variables are a complete concept and cannot be separated in the development of sustainable halal tourism. Research Implications: Theoretically, this study revises the idea that sustainability is limited to only three aspects as the concept of triple bottom line in the tourism industry. Empirically, the results of the research encourage the development of sustainable halal tourism through an integrated approach that considers religious morality, social, economic, and environmental aspects in a balanced manner. Originality/Value: This research is expected to make a significant contribution to developing halal tourism that is not only economically beneficial but also environmentally friendly and socially just in line with moral values and religious teachings, which is also encouraging the sustainable cities and communities as one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
