Steve McNulty is a Senior Research Ecologist and the Director of the USDA Southeast Regional Climate Hub, which is part of the USDA Forest Service Eastern Threat Center. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in forestry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Ph.D. in natural resources from the University of New Hampshire-Durham. He has over 30 years of experience in the study of climate change impacts on forest ecosystems from the watershed to continental scale, with a focus on adaptation management of forest growth and nutrient and water management using modeling and field experimentation. He received the Forest Service National Research and Development “Distinguished Science Award” in recognition of sustained research productivity, proactive science technology, innovative leadership, applied forest science, and long-time federal service.
