Prof. Franc Zupanic

Prof. Franc Zupanič is a lecturer in the field of Materials. He is head of the Laboratory for Materials, in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor. His research is oriented to the study of cast and wrought high-strength and/or heat-resistant aluminum alloys, especially those containing quasicrystals. He is currently dealing with the friction stir processing/welding of novel aluminium alloys, the investigation of welds using synchrotron X-ray diffraction and the determination of mechanical properties using indentation.
