Junjie Deng is an Associate Professor at the School of Marine Sciences, Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhuhai), Sun Yat-sen University. He graduated from the same university and received his B.Sc. (2007) and M.Sc. (2010). Then, he went to the University of Szczecin and completed his Ph.D. (2014). Before his current appointment, he was a Research Assistant at the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences, University of Szczecin (2010–2015) and a Postdoc Fellow at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Wollongong (2015–2016). His research focuses on the changing patterns of the coastal zone over the last ten to one hundred years including its sedimentation dynamics as well as carrying out numerical simulation and mathematical model research to provide scientific support and technical means for coastal protection, engineering construction, and management activities.
