He earned his doctorate degree in Education with a specialization in Religious Education at the same institution. His research interests include empirical theology, Christian spirituality, and attitude studies. He has peer-reviewed for several journals in religious studies. He was a research fellow at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2008.
