A low-profile microstrip antenna with stable radiation pattern in a relatively wide band is presented for 5G operation. Four resonant modes with different frequencies are integrated in a single structure to enhance the bandwidth with stable gain, and well matched by introducing the folded walls. An impedance bandwidth of 58.3% has been achieved from 2.84 to 5.17 GHz with a compact structure of 0.84λ 0 × 0.68λ 0 × 0.06λ 0 , where λ 0 is the free-space wavelength at the center frequency of 4 GHz. The measurement results show that the proposed antenna is with the merits of average gain of 5 dBi, stable radiation patterns, low cross polarization, and low backlobes, exhibiting potentially use for the applications of 5G wireless communication systems.

INTRODUCTION: Although the 9-minute mean withdrawal time (m-WT) is often reported to be associated with the optimal adenoma detection rate (ADR), no randomized trials of screening colonoscopy have confirmed the impact of a 9-minute m-WT on adenoma miss rate (AMR) and ADR. METHODS: A multicenter tandem trial was conducted in 11 centers. Seven hundred thirty-three asymptomatic participants were randomized to receive segmental tandem screening colonoscopy with a 9-minute withdrawal, followed by a 6-minute withdrawal (9-minute-first group, 9MF, n = 366) or vice versa (6-minute-first group, 6MF, n = 367). The primary outcome was the lesion-level AMR. RESULTS: The intention-to-treat analysis revealed that 9MF significantly reduced the lesion-level (14.5% vs 36.6%, P < 0.001) and participant-level AMR (10.9% vs 25.9%, P < 0.001), advanced adenoma miss rate (AAMR, 5.3% vs 46.9%, P = 0.002), multiple adenomas miss rate (20.7% vs 56.5%, P = 0.01), and high-risk adenomas miss rate (14.6% vs 39.5%, P = 0.01) of 6MF without compromising detection efficiency ( P = 0.79). In addition, a lower false-negative rate for adenomas ( P = 0.002) and high-risk adenomas ( P < 0.05), and a lower rate of shortening surveillance schedule ( P < 0.001) were also found in 9MF, accompanying with an improved ADR in the 9-minute vs 6-minute m-WT (42.3% vs 33.5%, P = 0.02). The independent inverse association between m-WT and AMR remained significant even after adjusting ADR, and meanwhile, 9-minute m-WT was identified as an independent protector for AMR and AAMR. DISCUSSION: In addition to increasing ADR, 9-minute m-WT also significantly reduces the AMR and AAMR of screening colonoscopy without compromising detection efficiency.

Background: To investigate the effect of a social media platform for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection.Materials and Methods: We enrolled 222 patients from October 2018 to June 2019, who required H pylori therapy. We used WeChat, a social media platform, as a patient reminder tool. They were randomly divided into the intervention and control groups (n = 111 per group) to compare and evaluate their disease awareness, medication adherence, incidence of adverse drug reactions, and H pylori eradication rate. Results: Patients in the intervention group had significantly better disease‐related knowledge, medication adherence, and H pylori eradication rates than those in the control group (P < .05).Conclusions: Using a social media platform may improve treatment rates of H pylori infection.

Oxford Nanopore sequencing is an important sequencing technology, which reads the nucleotide sequence by detecting the electrical current signal changes when DNA molecule is forced to pass through a biological nanopore. The research on signal simulation of nanopore sequencing is highly desirable for method developments of nanopore sequencing applications. To improve the simulation accuracy, we propose a novel signal simulation method based on Bi-directional Gated Recurrent Units (BiGRU). In this method, the signal processing model based on BiGRU is built to replace the traditional low-pass filter to post-process the ground-truth signal calculated by the input nucleotide sequence and nanopore sequencing pore model. Gaussian noise is then added to the filtered signal to generate the final simulated signal. This method can accurately model the relation between ground-truth signal and real-world sequencing signal through experimental sequencing data. The simulation results reveal that the proposed method utilizing the powerful learning ability of the neural network can generate the simulated signal that is closer to the real-world sequencing signal in the time and frequency domains than the existing simulation method.

Non-binary LDPC codes are now recognized as a potential competitor to binary coded solutions, especially when the codeword length is small or moderate. More and more works are reported with good performance/complexity tradeoffs, which make non-binary solutions interesting for practical applications, such as 4G-wireless systems or DVB-like systems. In this paper, we show that proposing non-binary LDPC codes built on finite fields is actually a limitation, both from performance and implementation points of view. By considering non-binary codes on the general linear group, we show in particular that a slight performance improvement can be obtained, compared to Galois Field codes, with reasonable additional cost in the hardware implementation. The performance gain is quite small, but comes at a slight extra decoding cost, and is obtained by proper generalization of the code optimization techniques that are standard for non-binary LDPC codes on fields.
