In the previous years, vision transformer has demonstrated a global information extraction capability in the field of computer vision that convolutional neural network (CNN) lacks. Due to the lack of inductive bias in vision transformer, it requires a large amount of data to support its training. In the field of remote sensing, it costs a lot to obtain a significant number of high-resolution remote sensing images. Most existing change detection networks based on deep learning rely heavily on the CNN, which cannot effectively utilize the long-distance dependence between pixels for difference discrimination. Therefore, this work aims to use a high-performance vision transformer to conduct change detection research with limited data. A bibranch fusion network based on axial cross attention (ACABFNet) is proposed. The network extracts local and global information of images through the CNN branch and transformer branch, respectively, and then, fuses local and global features by the bidirectional fusion approach. In the upsampling stage, similar feature information and difference feature information of the two branches are explicitly generated by feature addition and feature subtraction. Considering that the self-attention mechanism is not efficient enough for global attention over small datasets, we propose the axial cross attention. First, global attention along the height and width dimensions of images is performed respectively, and then cross attention is used to fuse the global feature information along two dimensions. Compared with the original self-attention, the structure is more graphics processing unit friendly and efficient. Experimental results on three datasets reveal that the ACABFNet outperforms existing change detection algorithms.

Changes on lakes and rivers are of great significance for the study of global climate change. Accurate segmentation of lakes and rivers is critical to the study of their changes. However, traditional water area segmentation methods almost all share the following deficiencies: high computational requirements, poor generalization performance, and low extraction accuracy. In recent years, semantic segmentation algorithms based on deep learning have been emerging. Addressing problems associated to a very large number of parameters, low accuracy, and network degradation during training process, this paper proposes a separable residual SegNet (SR-SegNet) to perform the water area segmentation using remote sensing images. On the one hand, without compromising the ability of feature extraction, the problem of network degradation is alleviated by adding modified residual blocks into the encoder, the number of parameters is limited by introducing depthwise separable convolutions, and the ability of feature extraction is improved by using dilated convolutions to expand the receptive field. On the other hand, SR-SegNet removes the convolution layers with relatively more convolution kernels in the encoding stage, and uses the cascading method to fuse the low-level and high-level features of the image. As a result, the whole network can obtain more spatial information. Experimental results show that the proposed method exhibits significant improvements over several traditional methods, including FCN, DeconvNet, and SegNet.

Remote sensing image change detection plays an important role in urban planning and environmental monitoring. However, the existing change detection algorithms have limited ability in feature extraction, feature relationship understanding, and capture of small target features and edge detail features, which leads to the loss of some edge detail information and small target features. To this end, a new dual attention-guided multiscale feature aggregation network is proposed. In encoding stage, the fully convolutional dual-branch structure is used to extract the semantic features of different scales, and then the multi-scale adjacent semantic information aggregation module is used to aggregate the adjacent semantic features at different scales, which can better capture and fuse the features of different scales, thereby improving the accuracy and robustness of change detection. In decoding stage, the dual attention fusion module is proposed to guide and fuse the features extracted from different scales along the spatial and channel directions, and reduce the background noise interference. In addition, this paper also proposes a three-branch feature fusion module and a global semantic information enhancement module to make the network better integrate global semantics and differential semantics and further integrate high-level semantic features. We also introduce an auxiliary classifier in decoding stage to provide additional supervision signals, and fuse the output of the three auxiliary classifiers with the output of the main decoder to further achieve multi-scale feature fusion. The comparative experiments on three remote sensing data sets show that the proposed method is superior to the existing change detection methods.

At present, 3D reconstruction technology is being gradually applied to underwater scenes and has become a hot research direction that is vital to human ocean exploration and development. Due to the rapid development of computer vision in recent years, optical image 3D reconstruction has become the mainstream method. Therefore, this paper focuses on optical image 3D reconstruction methods in the underwater environment. However, due to the wide application of sonar in underwater 3D reconstruction, this paper also introduces and summarizes the underwater 3D reconstruction based on acoustic image and optical–acoustic image fusion methods. First, this paper uses the Citespace software to visually analyze the existing literature of underwater images and intuitively analyze the hotspots and key research directions in this field. Second, the particularity of underwater environments compared with conventional systems is introduced. Two scientific problems are emphasized by engineering problems encountered in optical image reconstruction: underwater image degradation and the calibration of underwater cameras. Then, in the main part of this paper, we focus on the underwater 3D reconstruction methods based on optical images, acoustic images and optical–acoustic image fusion, reviewing the literature and classifying the existing solutions. Finally, potential advancements in this field in the future are considered.

Traditional building and water segmentation methods are vulnerable to noise interference, and hence they could not avoid missed and false detections in the detection process. Excessive deep learning downsampling would lead to significant loss of feature map information, and image location information offset, and the overall effect of falling apart. To address these issues, a Multi-Scale Location Attention Network (MSLA) is proposed. Location-spatial information and channel information are particularly important for edge detail segmentation in building and water cover. The network includes a Location Channel Attention Unit (LCA) to focus on tributary details of rivers and segmentation of building edge eaves. Moreover, this paper builds a Dual-Branch Multi-Scale Aggregation Unit (DBMSA) to obtain deeper multi-scale semantic information. Finally, the Multi-Scale Fusion Unit (MSF) is used to guide the information merging of multiple stages, and the boundary information is improved by splicing the acquired deep multi-scale information with the information of the relevant feature extraction layer in the downsampling. The experimental results on several datasets show that the proposed approach outperforms other methodologies in segmentation accuracy.
