Petr Toman graduated with a degree in Electrical Power Engineering in 1998 from Brno University of Technology. He received his PhD in 2002 and a second doctorate (Assoc. Prof.) in 2005. Since 2021, he has been a full professor. He has been with Brno University of Technology, Brno, Czech Republic, since 2001. His current position is head of the Department of Electrical Power Engineering. His field of interest covers the problems of power system control and electrical protective devices. He specializes in modeling and simulation of the elements of the power system. Prof. Petr Toman has been a member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society since 2004, a member of CIGRE and CIRED since 2005, and a member of IET since 2006.
