In this work, we have investigated the thermal features of hydrogen peroxide-based energetic materials formulations. Initial research has shown that both the auxiliary oxidiser (sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate or calcium nitrate) and sensitising agent (glass microspheres) have significant influence on the rate of hydrogen peroxide decay in such formulations. In terms of the thermal features of the tested energetic materials, a similar and significant influence of the auxiliary oxidising agent and sensitising agent choice was observed. We have established that the use of calcium nitrate as an auxiliary oxidising agent (at ambient temperature of approx 20 °C), which allows the formulations to maintain capacity to undergo detonation for longer under storage conditions, negatively impacts the qualitative characteristics of the mixture as an energetic material. The thermal effects accompanying chemical interaction are much smaller than mixtures containing potassium and sodium nitrates as additional oxidising agents. Another important conclusion is that glass microspheres as sensitising agents significantly impact the thermal decomposition processes of the investigated on-site mixed (OSM) energetic material (EM) samples, except for the mixture using calcium nitrate.

The article presents a review of modern technologies for the treatment of wastewater contaminated with pesticides—persistent organic pollutants that exert a long-term toxic impact on ecosystems and human health. Due to their high stability, bioaccumulation potential, and low biodegradability, the presence of pesticides in aquatic environments poses a serious environmental problem, necessitating the implementation of effective wastewater treatment solutions. The focus is placed on four main groups of methods: oxidative, sorptive, biological, and combined approaches. Oxidative methods include ozonation, ultraviolet (UV) treatment, photocatalysis, and the Fenton process. These technologies are effective in decomposing persistent organic compounds but often require significant energy input. Sorptive methods — using activated carbon, zeolites, graphene-based materials, etc. — are characterized by high availability and simplicity in application, yet they require further regeneration or disposal of the sorbents. Biological methods, such as those involving activated sludge, biofilms, and microalgae, are environmentally friendly but limited in their ability to degrade poorly biodegradable substances. The most promising direction is recognized as the application of combined approaches that integrate the advantages of different methods while mitigating their drawbacks. Particular attention is given to the synergistic use of ozonation, UV treatment, Fenton processes, and biosorption. Such integrated systems can achieve a high degree of purification while reducing energy consumption and operational costs. It is substantiated that further development of combined technologies is a key direction for enhancing the efficiency of wastewater treatment from pesticides.

This study focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of "Silver Aqua" portable filters provided by an American charitable foundation for drinking water purification. Water samples were collected from wells in the Shostka territorial community. An analysis of groundwater samples was conducted before and after purification using portable filters. The study examined the concentration of common contaminants such as nitrates and Escherichia coli (E. coli). It is known that recently, the quality of groundwater has significantly deteriorated due to the infiltration of waste from agro-industrial and chemical facilities into the soil as a result of military actions. Therefore, the use of portable filters by local residents and especially by military personnel can help prevent poisoning, infections, and chronic diseases. The methods of analysis included the photocolorimetric method for nitrate determination using sodium salicylate and a rapid test method for detecting E. coli. The results confirmed the effectiveness of the portable filters in removing this group of pollutants.
