Juan Carlos Martín holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and is a graduate in Mathematics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He is a Full Professor at the Department of Applied Economic Analysis at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He was the Director of the Ph.D. Program “Integral Development and Innovation for Tourist Destinations” in 2010-2015. In his area of expertise, Professor Martín is an active member of the Research Institute (TIDES) “Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development". He is a co-author of 10 books and monographs and more than 120 peer-reviewed papers in the field of tourism and transport economics.
