Bioelectronic devices implanted within the human body are increasingly used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, in which their functions and lifespan could be significantly improved with wireless energy transfer technology. However, limited by electromagnetic radiation, low power output, high stiffness, short transfer distance and tissue attenuation, most wireless energy transfer systems cannot meet the requirements of implantable medical devices (IMDs). Here, inspired by natural wood structures, we present a transmuscular ultrasonic wireless power transfer system based on a flexible wood-templated piezoelectric ultrasonic energy harvester (W-PUEH) in a unidirectional 3D interconnected ceramic–polymer topology. The developed flexible W-PUEH device demonstrates an output voltage of 21 V, an output current of 2 mA, and an average output power density of 304 μW cm−2, one order of magnitude higher than the state of the art. Further ex vivo and in vivo experiments demonstrate the sufficient power supply capacity of W-PUEH and its potential applications in implantable devices for the improvement of life quality and well-being of the recipients.

The utilization of hydrogels in soft electronics has led to significant progress in the field of wearable and implantable devices. However, challenges persist in hydrogel electronics, including the delicate equilibrium between stretchability and electrical conductivity, intricacies in miniaturization, and susceptibility to dehydration. Here, a lignin‐polyacrylamide (Ag‐LPA) hydrogel composite endowed with anti‐freeze, self‐adhesive, exceptional water retention properties, and high stretchability (1072%) is presented. Notably, this composite demonstrated impressive electrical conductivity at room temperature (47.924 S cm−1) and extremely cold temperatures (42.507 S cm−1). It is further proposed for microfluidic‐assisted hydrogel patches (MAHPs) to facilitate customizable designs of the Ag‐LPA hydrogel composite. This approach enhances water retention and offers versatility in packaging materials, making it a promising choice for enduring soft electronics applications. As a proof‐of‐concept, soft electronics across diverse applications and dimensions, encompassing healthcare monitoring, environmental temperature sensing, and 3D‐spring pressure monitoring electronics are successfully developed. The scenery of an extremely cold environment is further extended. The conductivity of the embedded Ag‐LPA hydrogel composite unveils the potential of MAHPs in polar rescue missions. It is envisioned that MAHPs will impact the development of sophisticated and tailored soft electronics, thereby forging new frontiers in engineering applications.

Urinary total protein (UTP) serves as a critical biomarker for diagnosing and managing various diseases; however, current detection methods often face limitations regarding accessibility, cost, and operational complexity for point-of-care applications. This study presents a novel hand-held spinning platform with centrifugal microfluidics (HSP-CM), a groundbreaking technology designed for electricity-free, cost-effective UTP detection at a remarkably low cost of approximately 1.4 USD per test. The HSP-CM integrates a 3D-printed spinning device that ensures uniform reagent distribution and a centrifugal microfluidic biochip capable of providing quantitative UTP analysis in a colorimetric, rapid (∼3 min), and user-friendly format. Notable innovations of the system include tunable hydrophilic-hydrophobic surface properties via microchannel aspect ratio adjustments, optimized optical conditions with an ultrafast exposure time of 1/100 s, and minimal sample volume requirements (5 μL), resulting in a detection limit as low as 3.49 μg/mL. The system demonstrated high throughput (n = 16) and strong correlation (0.9481) and agreement (90.32%) with gold-standard laboratory methods when validated using clinical urine samples from both healthy donors (n = 6) and myocardial infarction (MI) patients (n = 25). Furthermore, the HSP-CM successfully identified clinically relevant UTP thresholds (>63.11 μg/mL) for distinguishing high-risk MI patients, achieving 100% sensitivity and specificity in patient classification. This novel platform presents a transformative solution for point-of-care proteinuria monitoring, offering significant potential for deployment in remote and resource-limited environments, where it could enhance disease detection, management, and patient outcomes through its noninvasive, rapid, and efficient capabilities.
