The present study developed an assessment scale to measure the competitiveness of wellness destinations in Thailand, particularly from the perspective of the wellness tourism firm. A literature review and in-depth interviews informed the components and indicators for the assessment. Then, a scale was developed to evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of the measurement scale using exploratory factor analysis and verification by confirmatory factor analysis. These analyses generated seven dimensions of wellness tourism: destination environment, travel and policy, infrastructure and capacity, manufactured and cultural resources, strategy and structure, novelty potential, and cooperative and proactive marketing. The results indicate strategies and considerations to improve the competitiveness of wellness destinations in Thailand. The assessment tool may be valuable for wellness tourism clusters and stakeholders to assess and promote wellness destination competitiveness.

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is changing the future world and making a big impact on every company. As SMEs are too small to have their own R&D, they may be left behind from the digital disruption age. Academic researches that describe the IIoT implementation strategies with Human Computer Interaction (HCI) for SMEs and adoption items of the strategies are rarely known. This paper reveals the IIoT implementation strategies with new HCI for SMEs in multi dimensional facets. Analyses of IIoT implementation drivers, strategies, capabilities, and benefits on 30 articles from leading publishers such as Elsevier and Springer in the last 7 years are compared. Furthermore, the adoption items of IIoT implementation strategies are developed and quantitatively analyzed from 325 respondents of leading industries in Thailand manufacturing sector based on Technology, Organization, and Environment (TOE) adoption framework. The findings show that the 4 significant adoption items are lightweight flexibility, non monotonous task of new HCI, top management’s real time decision making, and market opportunity. These results permit better understanding of how SMEs can learn from the analyzed IIoT implementation strategies with HCI and the analyzed significant adoption items in order to adopt IIoT for their business empowerment, thereby maximizing the IIoT value.

Big-data analytics is gaining substantial attention due to its contribution to the process of determining business strategy and providing valuable information for the design and development of service innovation. The principal objective of this research is to study the adoption of big-data analytics for service innovation. The focus will be on leveraging features of data analytics to capture genuine customer’s requirements from the communication data through the digital service channel. This study used mixed methods research of documentary research, with supplementary semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted with 11 executive managements who have more than ten years of experience in data analytics or service development. The result of the research found that organizations in the services industry are using big data analytics to build capabilities to gain competitive advantages as well as the ability to rapidly and accurately respond to the market’s demands. The process of adopting big-data analytics for service innovation described in this article consists of seven essential procedural steps that impact the success of the development of service innovation, and also considered with the objective of increasing effectiveness in opportunity identification and reduce complexity in the fuzzy frond-end service innovation development theory.

The purpose of this research was to study the research and development (R&D) evaluation process situation and identify criteria for commercialization capability in Thai government in research institutes. The data were collected by in-depth interviews and purposive sampling is deployed. Series of interviews were conducted with 14 Thai experts from all the eight Thai government research institutes which stipulated R&D commercialization as their mission. The research results revealed that most of Thai R&D institutes focus on basic research; hence, the developed technology does not fit to the industrial demand. This paper hence suggested that the research institute should set the research agenda based on market together with technology driven. To assess the commercialization capability, six criteria for R&D project commercialization capability are technology, marketing, finance, intellectual property, resource, and beneficial impact should be considered but at different level relates to R&D development process. This paper is based on innovation theory to decrease the ambiguous subjectivity of Fuzzy expert system. Moreover, the proposed model explains major criteria to be used at each R&D development process to ensure commercialization capability.

The study objective was to examine, develop and apply an integrated lean management, IoT and MFCA system to optimize water management of industrial manufacturing in Thailand to increase efficiency. The results of a case study reduced water use in production processes by 15% per annum, with cost reduction of approximately US$12, 182. Reduced water consumption renders production processes more environmentally friendly, with increased ease and accuracy in managing water resources. Production processes also become more valuable by applying a modern management approach using industrial engineering techniques that enhance productivity, while reducing costs and increasing competitiveness. Results can be used to balance business development and promote the economy, society and environment in Thailand in the future.
