Omar is a Professor in Computational Imaging at the University of Jordan and currently visiting the Radiology and Bioimaging Department at Yale University. He is interested in computational imaging and clinical data mining techniques for automated detection and diagnosis of disease. Previously, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Oxford (Oxford, UK) and at the Biomedical Imaging group within the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing at the University of Surrey (Guildford, UK). He was also a visiting professor at the Medical Image Processing lab at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Computer Science Department at University of Marburg (Marburg,Germany).
