Dong-Eun Kim is currently a professor at Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea. He received his BSc and MSc degrees from the Department of Chemistry, Seoul National University, in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Ohio State University (Columbus, OH, USA) in 2001. He worked as a postdoc research associate at The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA, USA) in 2002. He took a faculty position at Dong-Eui University (Busan, Korea) from 2003 to 2006 and then transferred to Konkuk University. His research interests include nucleic acid biochemistry, nucleic acid-binding nano-materials, and the development of molecular diagnosis.
