Discovering anticancer drugs that do not have adverse side effects has been a developing research field worldwide in recent decades. In this work, four previously undescribed cytotoxic diterpenoids were isolated from the aerial parts of Isodon excisoides. Interestingly, these four diterpenoids were two pairs of tautomers that were first reported in plants. Their structures were further elucidated using various spectroscopic methods. The tautomerization phenomenon and mechanism for these two pairs of tautomers were emphatically described. The theoretical simulation results indicated that the diterpene tautomerization is greatly related to certain factors, including the existence of a transition state, the change of bond length and the level of conversion energy; the tautomerization for the two pairs of tautomers is mainly caused by proton transfer. For bioassays, the cytotoxicities of the tautomers against five human cancer cell lines were also investigated. The results indicated that each of the four diterpenoids showed significant cytotoxicity in at least three cell lines and could serve as potential anticancer agents for further investigation.

Background: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess whether transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) assists in the recovery of gastrointestinal function after colorectal cancer surgery. Methods: A comprehensive search for randomized controlled trials from inception to June 10th, 2025, was performed using the following databases: PubMed, Cochrane Library (CENTRAL), Excerpta Medica Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, WanFang Database, and China Biomedical Literature. We assessed the risk of bias in the included studies using the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. RevMan5.4.1 software was used to perform the meta-analysis. Sensitivity analysis, Begg test, and Egger test were conducted using Stata12.0. Results: Twenty-four eligible articles involving 2409 participants were included in the meta-analysis. Our analysis found that TEAS significantly reduced the time to first defecation (mean difference [MD] = –15.74, 95% confidence intervals [CI]: –20.49 to –10.99, P ˂.001), time to first flatus (MD = –13.39, 95% CI: –16.28 to –10.50, P < .001), time to first bowel movement (MD = –11.12, 95% CI: –13.94 to –8.30, P ˂.001), time of postoperative feeding (MD = –11.91, 95% CI: –17.62 to –6.21, P ˂.001), the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (risk ratio: 0.40, 95% CI: 0.31–0.52, P < .001). Sensitivity analysis indicated that the results remained constant after the exclusion of any individual study. Funnel plots and Egger tests revealed no significant publication bias. Conclusion: TEAS can assist in the recovery of gastrointestinal function after colorectal cancer surgery.

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate existing evidence in the field of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and prognosis of gastric cancer. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was performed through the electronic database. The combined hazard ratios (HRs) and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), or progression free survival (PFS) were calculated to assess the strength of the association. Kaplan–Meier (KM) plotter was used to verify lncRNA HOX transcript antisense RNA (HOTAIR) expression and OS. Results: Overall, a significant correlation between high lncRNAs expression and poor OS was explored in patients with gastric cancer (HR = 1.78, P < .001). Subgroup analysis based on statistical methods indicated the high expression of lncRNAs in log-rank (HR = 1.87, P < .001) and multivariate analysis (HR = 1.71, P < .001) were all significantly correlated with the poor OS. Clinicopathological parameters analysis showed the lncRNA expression were significantly associated prognosis, including TNM stage, tumor size, pathological differentiation, lymph nodes metastasis, distance metastasis, invasion depth and Lauren’s classification. It was consistent with the verification results of bioinformatics database for lncRNA HOTAIR (P < .001). Conclusion: Our study confirmed the expression of lncRNAs and clinicopathological features may serve as effective indicators of prognosis in patients with gastric cancer.
