Background: Labiaplasty, which has become increasingly popular in recent years, is chosen by women for both cosmetic and functional reasons. It creates significant changes in female sexuality, resulting in high satisfaction rates, but there are limited data on its effects on male sexual response. Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of labiaplasty on partners. Methods: The partners of 49 patients who underwent labiaplasty between January 2020 and May 2023 were included in the study. Male Sexual Health Questionnaire Ejaculatory Dysfunction (MSHQ-EjD), Golombok-Rust Sexual Satisfaction Scale, and New Sexual Satisfaction Scale questionnaires were administered to the partners preoperatively and 6 months postoperatively. Results: There was no significant difference between preoperative and postoperative responses to the MSHQ-EjD questionnaire. The postoperative increase in the New Sexual Satisfaction Scale compared with the preoperative score was statistically significant. Statistically significant positive changes were observed postoperatively in the Golombok-Rust Sexual Satisfaction Scale categories of intercourse frequency, communication, satisfaction, and nature of sexual intercourse. Conclusions: Labiaplasty operation had positive effects on male sexual response but had no effect on ejaculation function and difficulty. Level of Evidence: 3:

Background/Objectives: This study aimed to compare the effects of two different labiaplasty techniques, trim resection and modified wedge resection, on postoperative patient comfort, complication rates, and sexual function. Methods: Between 2021 and 2025, female patients who underwent labiaplasty using two different techniques at a tertiary care centre were retrospectively evaluated. The patients were divided into two equal groups: Group 1 underwent wedge resection, and Group 2 underwent trim resection. Postoperative outcomes were assessed at the first week, first month, and sixth month. Sexual and aesthetic outcomes were evaluated using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the Female Genital Self-Image Scale (FGSIS). Results: A total of 40 female patients were included in the study. A statistically significant postoperative increase was observed in the total FGSIS and FSFI scores in both groups (p < 0.001 for all comparisons). Trim resection resulted in greater improvement in aesthetic satisfaction and body image, as reflected by higher postoperative FGSIS scores. In contrast, wedge resection produced more pronounced improvements in sexual function, particularly in the FSFI subdomains of arousal, orgasm, and satisfaction. Notably, the three patients who developed suture dehiscence at the first postoperative week had all undergone wedge resection and were active smokers. Conclusions: Both surgical techniques were effective in enhancing aesthetic satisfaction and sexual function following labiaplasty. While the trim technique appeared superior in improving aesthetic outcomes, the wedge technique provided greater benefits in specific sexual function parameters.

This study aimed to investigate if the pregnancy associated plasma Protein-A (PAPP-A) multiples of median (MoM) levels could be used as a marker for the early prediction of RDS. The present study was designed with data gathered from 1773 patients who were referred to our institution for first trimester fetal chromosomal anomaly screening. First trimester PAPP-A MoM values and postnatal RDS occurrences in these pregnancies were retrospectively analysed. Of the 1773 neonates that were included in the study, 28 were delivered at or beyond 37 weeks, and 42 were delivered less than 37 weeks of gestation. In the group of neonates at or beyond 37 weeks, the cut-off value for RDS prediction was determined as 1.02. For this cut-off value, sensitivity was 72.41% and specificity was 91.84%. The area under curve (AUC) was determined to be statistically significant (p < .01). In conclusion, it was determined that in neonates that were delivered at or beyond 37 weeks of gestation, RDS occurrence could be predicted at a significant rate by utilising PAPP-A MoM values.
This study aimed to explore neonatal and maternal outcomes according to the percentage of placental abruption. The study included 136 pregnant women who gave birth between January 2015 and December 2016 and were diagnosed with placental abruption. Obstetric history was recorded, and neonatal and maternal outcomes were analyzed. It was noted whether an additional operation or intervention was required during the operation. The pregnant women included in the study were divided into 3 groups according to the percentage of placental abruption. 0% to 30% abruption was classified as Group 1, 31% to 50% abruption was classified as Group 2, and 51% to 100% abruption was classified as Group 3. It was found that stillbirth rates were statistically significantly higher in the group 3 patients. 1st minute and 5th minute Apgar scores were found to be significantly lower in groups 2 and 3 compared to group 1. Additional surgical interventions performed during the operation (such as hysterectomy, B-Lynch suture, and Hayman suture) were more common in group 3. When the abruption area of the placenta exceeds 30%, neonatal outcomes are adversely affected, and when it exceeds 50%, fetal mortality rates increase significantly. As the severity of placental abruption increases, the probability of needing further surgical intervention also increases.
