My research activity is focused on the characterization of archaeological finds or objects of artistical or historical relevance, with the aim of disclosing working technologies, provenance and age and the development of non-invasive or micro-invasive analytical protocols for detecting chemical species in complex matrices relevant for the study of materials from the historical or archaeological heritage. Investigated materials and artifacts are: glazed and decorated pottery, glass, illuminated manuscripts, ancient textiles, historical musical instruments.
