My name is Soon Young Shin, and I received a Ph.D. from the School of Life Sciences & Biotechnology, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea, in 2004. I am a full-time professor in the Department of Life Sciences and an adjunct professor in the Department of Cosmetic Engineering at Konkuk University, Seoul, South Korea. My major is Cell and Molecular Biology, and my research interest is the transcriptional regulation of inflammatory cytokines, particularly the transcription factor EGR1-regulated genes, which play critical roles in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.
