Information

Dr. Marilisa Leone is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Biostructures and Bioimaging (IBB), National Research Council of Italy (CNR), Naples, Italy. She received her Master’s degree in Chemistry (110/110 cum laude) from the University "Federico II" of Naples, Italy, in 1999, and she completed her Ph.D. studies in Chemistry/Protein NMR in 2003. She was a visiting Ph.D. student of the Burnham Institute, La Jolla, CA, USA (Prof. M. Pellecchia Lab.) (2002–2003). She has been awarded Postdoctoral fellowships (2004–2006). She worked as a Staff Scientist at The Burnham Institute for Medical Research, La Jolla, CA, USA (2006–2009). Her research interests are focused on structural biology and drug discovery (keywords: NMR, conformational analysis of proteins and peptides, Sam domains, protein--protein interactions (PPIs), design and evaluation of PPI inhibitors, structure-based drug design, molecular modeling / docking, cancer research).
