Biography

Dr. Yanju Liu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Global Centre for Environmental Remediation (GCER), University of Newcastle, Australia. She received her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental Remediation from the University of South Australia. Dr Yanju focuses on research activities investigating the environmental soil chemistry of organic and inorganic contaminants. She has participated in and led research projects focusing on heavy metals, PFAS, and TPH/PAH, to understand the bioavailability, bio-accessibility, sorption/desorption, toxicity and threshold values, plant uptake, fate and transport, and remediation of contaminants in soils/groundwater. She contributes to the field of environmental soil chemistry by linking the mobility and bioavailability of contaminants with toxic effects, remediation, and investigation threshold values. So far, she has published 82 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
