Prof. Dr. Peter Letmathe researches and teaches in the fields of sustainability accounting and operational value creation management, as well as innovation and business model controlling at the RWTH Aachen University, where he is heads the Chair of Management Accounting since October 2011. His practical experience includes more than 50 third-party funded projects in the areas of management accounting, environmental management, process optimization, and strategic management. Peter Letmathe studied business administration at the University of Bielefeld. After earning his doctorate at the University of GH Essen and his habilitation at the Ruhr-University of Bochum, he held his first professorship for environmental and technology management at the University of Bayreuth. From 2002 to 2011, he held the Chair for Value Creation Management at the University of Siegen, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises, where he also founded the Siegen Institute for Medium-Sized Businesses in 2003 and headed it until 2011. At RWTH Aachen, he served his faculty as dean from 2018-2021. He is involved in multiple interdisciplinary research projects and leads the university’s strategy group “Human-Technology-Transformation”.
