After a stroke, most patients often suffer reduced walking ability and balance. Restoring walking ability and improving balance are major goals of stroke rehabilitation. Treadmills are often used in clinical setups to achieve this goal. The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of different approaches and determine their comparative effectiveness, such as real-time sagittal visual feedback during treadmill training with the conventional mirror feedback treadmill training program of the same intensity in stroke patients. The Real-time Visual feedback after Stroke in Treadmill training (REVISIT) trial is a two-arm randomized control trial. Thirty eligible stroke survivors undergoing rehabilitation were randomly assigned to either real-time visual sagittal feedback along with the front mirror (experimental) group or only the front mirror treadmill training (control) group for 5-6 weeks. All participants underwent 15 sessions of treadmill training, with each session lasting up to 15 minutes at a safe speed of their choosing. The REVISIT (experimental) groups received real-time, visual sagittal view feedback of the involved lower limb trajectory along with the routine front mirror view during treadmill training and they were requested to alter their gait pattern. The trial contributed to the existing innovation and modifications of incorporating real-time visual feedback during treadmill training in post-stroke gait rehabilitation. The findings will help in the design of a gait rehabilitation program with a treadmill for post-stroke subjects to improve walking speed and balance for those who have greater difficulties in community ambulation.

Soft skills are the habits and traits that determine how a person operates in the workplace like communicating with others. Students are in a position to prove themselves in different aspects, which is not possible by technology. The soft skills identified as important in the workplace include communication, teamwork, motivation, problem-solving, enthusiasm, and trust. A quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional approach was used to assess the knowledge and practice of soft skills among nursing students at selected nursing colleges in Chennai. The target population was B. Sc Nursing Basic students in Chennai. There was a total of 305 students in the study. Data was collected using my 3s 5 point rating scale questionnaire, which Data developed was analyzed using SPSS version 23. The highest mean score (20.47 with SD 4.38) was observed in the soft skill domain of management and the lowest score was in writing and communication skills (20.23 with SD4.38). There was a statistically significant association found in soft skill domains of writing skill and management skill with fathers’ educational status and mothers’ occupational status at p<0.05 level. Soft skills are an internal part of the nursing profession. It reflects on approaches that would enable nursing students to grow in their profession.

Mental health is an urgent concern in India as every sixth Indian needs mental health help as reported by a recent National Mental Health Survey done by Gururaj in the year 2016. Further, while 20% of Indians suffer from a mental illness, only 10-12% of them seek help from mental health professionals mainly due to ignorance, stigma and discrimination that largely prevail in Indian community. The study aimed to assess the attitude towards mental illness among nurses and to associate the attitude towards mental illness among nurses working in selected tertiary care hospitals with background selected variables. A non-experimental descriptive research design was used in this study. A purposive sampling technique was used to select the samples and 400 samples were taken for the study. The majority of the nurses have negative 310 (77%) attitudes towards mental illness and only 90(23%) of them have positive attitudes towards mental illness. The mean value of attitude is 59.59 with a standard deviation of 4.94. There is no significant association was found between attitudes toward mental illness among nurses working in selected tertiary care hospitals with background variables at p<0.05. The study results recommend initiating training programs for the nurses aimed at promoting positive attitudes and making them sensitive to the needs of mentally ill patients.

This study investigates the effects of a capacity-building programme on the competency of ECG interpretation among critical care nurses. Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation is a fundamental clinical skill essential for the rapid diagnosis of potentially life-threatening conditions. Misinterpretation of ECGs can result in inappropriate clinical decisions, leading to adverse patient outcomes. This study, conducted at a tertiary care hospital with over 1600 beds and six fully equipped intensive care units, aimed to improve the knowledge and practice of ECG interpretation among nurses frequently recording ECGs. A quantitative quasi-experimental study was conducted with 100 nurses selected using non-probability purposive sampling. Pre-test and post-test assessments were used to evaluate knowledge and practice, and data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the study group had significantly higher post-test knowledge and practice scores compared to the control group, with a strong positive correlation between knowledge and practice scores. The findings highlight the importance of continuous education and training for healthcare professionals.

Primiparous refers to a woman who has given birth for the first time to an infant or infant, alive or stillborn. These primiparous mothers have concerns pertaining to their self-care and their newborn infants' care. These expectations and concerns of Primiparous mothers are unlikely to be met due to a lack of preparedness for information about self-care and infant care. This study aimed to identify the perception of preparedness for self-care and infant care among the primiparous before discharge and the information needs, after delivery in a private hospital in which this study was conducted. This study adopted a cross-sectional and descriptive design to achieve the research objective. The target population was primiparous who had given birth to a healthy baby in a private hospital in Penang. There was a total of 72 participants in this study. Data was collected using a self-develop questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale to generate quantitative data. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 23.0. The findings of this study revealed that the perception and understanding of primiparous towards the information provided before discharge from the hospital has not reached a satisfactory level as primiparous were not confident enough with some of the information provided and the needs to be prepared themselves before discharge. Hence, this study concludes that future studies are needed to explore new practices to enhance the quality of maternal health care and promote positive maternal experience and well-being for mother and infant.
