Frequent mining activities create a series of geological and environmental problems resulting in an immeasurable loss of life and property. Adopting effective technologies that monitor the surface subsidence of mining areas reliably and accurately is necessary. Targeting problems associated with conventional distributed scatterers interferometric synthetic aperture radar (DS-InSAR) technology, we propose a DS-InSAR technology integrating unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry products divided into two key technical contents: generating an external reference digital elevation model (DEM) fused with UAV DEM and refining distributed scatterers candidates (DSCs) fused with an UAV digital orthophoto map (DOM). We selected two mining areas, one in Wu’an, Hebei, and the other in Inner Mongolia, with different surface cover types, mining depths, and topographies as the research area. We used Sentinel-1A SAR images covering a mine in Wu’an from 4 November 2018 to 4 March 2019 and a mining area in Inner Mongolia from 11 June 2018 to 21 October 2018 to compare and analyze the subsidence results. We also combined these results with data from their respective field observation stations to assess accuracy. We could apply DS-InSAR technology integrated with UAV photogrammetry products to the subsidence monitoring of two mining areas with different landforms and mining characteristics. Comparing with the leveling and total station, the experimental results show that the RMSE was reduced by about 2 mm in both mining areas, and accuracy for the Wu’an region improved to a higher degree than Inner Mongolia did. Furthermore, the refinement method of DS eliminated 965 and 2948 lower-quality DSCs in the two mining areas. These demonstrate that our proposed method can effectively improve the accuracy and reliability of subsidence results from two mining areas.
Transmission lines are the basis of human production and activities. In order to ensure their safe operation, it is essential to regularly conduct transmission line inspections and identify tree risk in a timely manner. In this paper, a power line extraction and tree risk detection method is proposed. Firstly, the height difference and local dimension feature probability model are used to extract power line points, and then the Cloth Simulation Filter algorithm and neighborhood sharing method are creatively introduced to distinguish conductors and ground wires. Secondly, conductor reconstruction is realized by the approach of the linear–catenary model, and numerous non-risk points are excluded by constructing the tree risk point candidate area centered on the conductor’s reconstruction curve. Finally, the grading strategy for the safety distance calculation is used to detect the tree risk points. The experimental results show that the precision, recall, and F-score of the conductors (ground wires) classification exceed 98.05% (97.98%), 99.00% (99.14%), and 98.58% (98.56%), respectively, which presents a high classification accuracy. The Root-Mean-Square Error, Maximum Error, and Minimum Error of the conductor’s reconstruction are better than 3.67 cm, 7.13 cm, and 2.64 cm, respectively, and the Mean Absolute Error of the safety distance calculation is better than 6.47 cm, proving the effectiveness and rationality of the proposed tree risk points detection method.

Research on the rock and surface subsidence laws of super-high water material backfilling and mining technology can provide a scientific basis for liberating coal resources that are deposited under buildings, railways, and bodies of water. Using field measurements, numerical simulations, and theoretical analyses to study the geological mining conditions of the Hengjian Mine in Handan, Hebei Province, this research comprehensively analyzes the dynamic and static deformation laws of rock and surface subsidence, reveals the subsidence control mechanism, complements existing studies and helps improve the feasibility of new technology in engineering practices. This study shows that rock and surface subsidence values are smaller when the super-high water material backfilling and mining technology are used, and the surface movement parameters are smaller than those of the fully caving mining method. The backfilling material supports the rock load above the mining area and suppresses the rock and surface subsidence. In addition, the super-high water backfilling material limits the height of the developing stress arch above the mining area, thus reducing the range of deformation in the rock and surface movement. In engineering practice, the development of the stress arch can be controlled by increasing the backfilling rate and the strength of the backfilling material. With the above-mentioned discoveries, this research is of great significance to the promotion and application of super-high water material backfilling and mining technology and the liberation of deposited coal resources.
