Evika Karamagioli is a jurist who serves as a Scientific Associate of the MSc Global Health-Disaster Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and as a lecturer of the MSc in Digital Communication Media and Interaction Environments at the Media Faculty of the same university. She lectures in both faculties on health, humanities, participatory governance, and digital innovation for good. She holds a Ph.D. degree in social sciences from Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint. Since 2020, she has served as an honorary visiting assistant professor in humanitarian crisis management, communication, and technology at the Medical School, University of Bern, Switzerland. Her research interests include democratic innovation through participatory design methods and tools, civic empowerment and advocacy, open data as a civil society strengthening mechanism, risk communication, and disaster management.
