Drylands cover a vast area, and biodiversity conservation in these regions represents a major challenge. A bibliometric study of published research highlighted several key aspects, including publication types, research fields, years of publication, contributing countries, institutions, languages, journals, publishers, authors, and frequently used keywords. The analysis also included plants related to biodiversity conservation in arid areas, animals related to biodiversity conservation in arid areas, and causes of biodiversity decline in arid regions, effects of biodiversity loss in these regions, and restoration methods aimed at improving biodiversity conservation in arid areas. A total of 947 publications were identified, starting from 1994, authored by researchers from 99 countries, primarily from Australia, the USA, China, Spain, and South Africa, and published in 345 journals, with the most prominent being Journal of Arid Environments, Biodiversity and Conservation, and Biological Conservation. The most commonly appearing keywords included biodiversity, conservation, diversity, vegetation, and patterns, with recent years showing an increased use of terms related to the causes and effects of aridification: climate change, land use, and ecosystem services. The causes of biodiversity loss in drylands are primarily linked to human activities and climatic changes, while the effects impact the entire ecosystem. Methods to improve biodiversity include traditional agroforestry systems, tree plantations and other plant species, grazing management, and other approaches. Combined actions among stakeholders and ecologically appropriate nature-based solutions are also recommended. Improvements in conservation biodiversity in arid areas are very important also for achieving the sustainability goals in these areas. However, numerous aspects of this topic remain to be studied in greater detail.

Natural bioactive compounds found in Momordica charantia including polysaccharides, saponins, polyphenols, alkaloids, and notably polypeptide-p (often referred to as “plant insulin”)—have shown promising potential in shaping nutritional and therapeutic strategies for managing diabetes, metabolic disorders, and other nutrition-related diseases. Both retrospective and prospective analyses of bitter gourd’s functional properties such as its antioxidant, antitumor, immunomodulatory, and antibacterial effects highlight its innovative use as a food ingredient in developing targeted nutritional therapies. Assessing its applicability in the food industry, particularly through the fortification of products with bitter gourd powders, pulp, juice, or extracts, could enhance consumer acceptance and elevate the perceived quality of nutritionally superior foods. The nutrifunctional attributes revealed by its nutritional profile support the strategic integration of bitter gourd into various food formulations, contributing to a broader and more diverse range of dietary options. This diversification is especially valuable in addressing the dietary monotony often associated with diabetic nutrition plans, which continue to present significant challenges. The foundation laid by this review drawing on both theoretical insights and practical applications serves as a springboard for future research into the fortifying potential of bitter gourd-based preparations. Ultimately, such products may be recommended not only as nutritional supplements but also as part of clinical and hygienic-dietetic practices.

In the present research, necessary and sufficient conditions for the univalence of the fractional integral of the Gaussian hypergeometric function are obtained by employing specific approaches from differential subordination theory. The first theorem provides the best dominant for a particular differential subordination, which is proved to be a Carathéodory function. These results facilitate the establishment of several corollaries that give the necessary and sufficient conditions for this fractional operator to be a function with a positive real part of the first derivative. The univalence properties obtained through this research enhance the potential for new applications in geometric function theory and related research domains.

The genus Acer comprises more than 110 tree and shrub species distributed throughout the Northern Hemisphere and represents an important component of temperate forest ecosystems. This review evaluates biodiversity patterns, ecological functions, environmental pressures, and conservation approaches associated with Acer forests. A systematic literature search conducted in the Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus databases on 20 January 2026, without publication-year restrictions. After screening and eligibility assessment, 688 publications were included and analyzed using bibliometric methods and qualitative thematic synthesis. The literature increased substantially over the last four decades, with climate change, biodiversity conservation, forest dynamics, and sustainable management among the principal research themes. The selected studies covered species and genetic diversity, forest composition and dynamics, associated plant, fungal, and animal communities, environmental change, and conservation and management. Native Acer forests were frequently associated with structurally complex habitats, diverse understory communities, nutrient cycling, and multiple ecosystem functions, whereas habitat loss, fragmentation, climate change, atmospheric pollution, and biological invasions were identified as major pressures. Introduced species, particularly Acer negundo, were also frequently examined in relation to impacts on native biodiversity. Important research gaps concerned poorly studied endemic species, long-term monitoring, multitrophic interactions, and the effectiveness of conservation measures under environmental change. Future research should integrate ecological, genetic, physiological, and remote-sensing approaches to support evidence-based conservation and sustainable management of Acer forests. This review provides a systematic and bibliometric synthesis of the indexed English-language literature retrieved using the specified search strategy and identifies major research patterns, evidence gaps, and conservation priorities relevant to Acer forests biodiversity under environmental change.
