Born in Argentina in 1975, I earned a Bachelor’s in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry focus) from Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP) in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from CEQUINOR in 2005 as a CONICET fellow. My research includes international stays in Germany, Cuba, and China, and the Brazilian synchrotron. Since 2007, I have been a CONICET researcher, now a Principal Investigator, with over 150 publications and numerous conference presentations. With over 30 years of teaching experience, I am currently a Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry. My research focuses on sulfur-containing compounds, their synthesis, and applications. A key achievement was developing compounds active against multidrug-resistant bacteria in cystic fibrosis patients, patented by CONICET and UNLP, and awarded the 2017 INNOVAR Prize. I lecture globally, foster South-South collaborations, and have trained students at all academic levels. Recognitions include the UNLP Award (2010), the National Academy of Exact Sciences Award (2012), and the "María Cristina Giordano" Prize (2023). I am an alumni member of TWAS, representing Latin America and the Caribbean. Beyond research, I engage in literacy programs for marginalized communities and have served in university governance, including as Dean of UNLP’s Facultad de Ciencias Exactas since 2018, reelected in 2022. My career reflects a commitment to science, education, and social development.
