Dr. Zekai Murat Kilic is a Lecturer in Digital Manufacturing at the School of Engineering at The University of Manchester (UK). He earned his BSc in Mechanical Engineering (2006) and MSc (2009) from Middle East Technical University (Turkiye), and his PhD degree (2015) and Postdoctoral research experience from the University of British Columbia (Canada). Dr. Kilic had 2.5 years of industry experience at Pratt & Whitney Canada (Canada) and ITRI Intelligent Machine Tools Division (Taiwan). His research interests are on machining dynamics, digital twinning of manufacturing operations, high-performance tools, and process optimization. Dr. Kilic is a Research Affiliate of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP). The papers he co-authored received the ASME Blackall and Machine Tool Gage Award (2012), and Best Technical Paper Award in SIGGRAPH Asia (2022).
