Prof. Cristina Rusu is currently working as a senior expert in Microsystems at Sensors System Group, Division Digital System at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. Her focus is on low-power sensors, as well as business development for energy harvesting for self-powered sensors. She was appointed Associate Professor in Microsystems at Chalmers University in 2016 and Adjunct Professor in Wireless Sensors at Mid Sweden University in 2017. She obtained an MSc in Applied Physics from the University of Bucharest and a PhD in Microtechnology (MEMS) from the University of Twente in 1990 and 1998, respectively. She is currently a member of the Faculty Board for Science, Technology and Media at Mid Sweden University. She has more than 100 publications in scientific conferences and journals. She has extensive experience in R&D sensors, microsystems, miniaturised energy harvester and management of big R&D Swedish and European projects. She is evaluator for R&D proposals for Flemish government fund IOF, Romanian Agency for Higher Education funding, and peer reviewer for many international journals on sensors and energy harvesting. Her research keywords include low-power microsensors, MEMS, and energy harvesting for IoT.
