The rapid growth of Internet users led to unwanted cyber issues, including cyberbullying, hate speech, and many more. This article deals with the problems of hate speech on Twitter. Hate speech appears to be an inflammatory kind of interaction process that uses misconceptions to express a hate ideology. The hate speech focuses on various protected aspects, including gender, religion, race, and disability. Owing to hate speech, sometimes unwanted crimes are going to happen as someone or a group of people get disheartened. Hence, it is essential to monitor user’s posts and filter the hate speech related post before it is spread. However, Twitter receives more than six hundred tweets per second and about 500 million tweets per day. Manually filtering any information from such a huge incoming traffic is almost impossible. Concerning to this aspect, an automated system is developed using the Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN). The proposed DCNN model utilises the tweet text with GloVe embedding vector to capture the tweets’ semantics with the help of convolution operation and achieved the precision, recall and F1-score value as 0.97, 0.88, 0.92 respectively for the best case and outperformed the existing models.

This article aims to summarize the recent advancement in the fake account detection methodology on social networking websites. Over the past decade, social networking websites have received huge attention from users all around the world. As a result, popular websites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and others saw an unexpected rise in registered users. However, researchers claim that all registered accounts are not real; many of them are fake and created for specific purposes. The primary purpose of fake accounts is to spread spam content, rumor, and other unauthentic messages on the platform. Hence, it is needed to filter out the fake accounts, but it has many challenges. In the past few years, researchers applied many advanced technologies to identify fake accounts. In the survey presented in this article, we summarize the recent development of fake account detection technologies. We discuss the challenges and limitations of the existing models in brief. The survey may help future researchers to identify the gaps in the current literature and develop a generalized framework for fake profile detection on social networking websites.

Social networking platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and others have numerous advantages, but they have many dark sides also. One of the issues on these social platforms is cyberbullying. The impact of cyberbullying is immeasurable on the life of victims as it’s very subjective to how the person would tackle this. The message may be a bully for victims, but it may be normal for others. The ambiguities in cyberbullying messages create a big challenge to find the bully content. Some research has been reported to address this issue with textual posts. However, image-based cyberbullying detection is received less attention. This research aims to develop a model that helps to prevent image-based cyberbullying issues on social platforms. The deep learning-based convolutional neural network is initially used for model development. Later, transfer learning models are utilized in this research. The experimental outcomes of various settings of the hyper-parameters confirmed that the transfer learning-based model is the better choice for this problem. The proposed model achieved a satisfactory accuracy of 89% for the best case, indicating that the system detects most cyberbullying posts.
