Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Pessoa holds a degree in Physics from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2003), a master's degree (2005), and a doctorate (2009) in Sciences in the area of Plasma Physics from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics. He is currently a professor at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA) and a collaborating professor at the São Paulo State University "Julio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP) and at the University of Brazil. He has experience in Physics, with emphasis on Plasma Physics and Condensed Matter Physics, and in the areas of Aerospace Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, working mainly on the following topics: thin film deposition processes (physical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition, atomic layer deposition) and corrosion of materials by plasmas (reactive ion etching, inductively coupled plasma, hollow cathode), surface treatment by plasmas (plasma microwave, microplasmas), materials characterization techniques, plasma diagnostic techniques, simulation of cold plasmas, plasma-assisted technologies for biomedical engineering and solar cells.
