Dr. Md Maruf Mortula is a Professor of Environmental Engineering at the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. He received his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering/Environmental Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh, in 2000. He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. (both in Civil Engineering/ Hydraulic Modeling) from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. Dr. Mortula worked at the National Research Council of Canada before joining AUS. His research interests are water and wastewater treatment, waste residual management within water utilities, organic waste management, and water quality management in the water distribution system and in coastal areas.
