In order to study the effect of high temperature on the mechanical properties of rock, two groups of coarse sandstone samples were subjected to the uniaxial compression and triaxial compression test at room temperature of 25 °C and high temperatures of 100~1000 °C. The study comes to some conclusions: (1) With the increase of temperature, the longitudinal wave velocity gradually decreases, and the damage factor of temperature gradually increases. (2) For uniaxial compression tests at different temperatures, the high temperature action within 500 °C has a strengthening effect on the compression strength, and the high temperature effect has a weakening effect on the compression strength when temperatures exceed 500 °C; so 500 °C is the temperature threshold. (3) For triaxial compression tests at different temperatures, the rock strength is positively correlated with temperature and confining pressure when the temperature is lower than 800 °C and the confining pressure is lower than 15 MPa; the rock strength is negatively correlated with temperature and confining pressure when the temperature is over 800 °C and confining pressure is above 15 MPa, so 800 °C is the temperature threshold, and 15 MPa is the confining pressure threshold. (4) In the triaxial compression, the actual fracture angle of the sample after high temperature is basically the same as the theoretical calculation value, high temperature has little effect on the actual fracture angle of the sample, and the actual fracture angle is negatively correlated with the confining pressure.

In the process of tunnel construction, gypsum rock is often encountered, and the volume of gypsum rock expands when encountering water, which is easy to cause the occurrence of rock fall, collapse, and other disasters, bringing serious challenges to the safe construction of the tunnel. Therefore, in this paper, four groups of samples under different moisture content are tested by ultrasonography, uniaxial compression, conventional triaxial compression, Brazilian splitting, X‐ray diffraction, and SEM, and then the physical and mechanical properties of gypsum rock are studied, and the conclusion is as follows: the density of the water saturated sample, and the longitudinal wave velocity of the natural sample are the highest. Both the water saturation and dehydration conditions have a weakening effect on the remolded sample of high‐strength gypsum powder. The peak intensity of the sample gradually increases with the increase of confining pressure, and the relationship between the peak intensity and confining pressure of the sample conforms to the Coulomb strength criterion. After high‐temperature dehydration, the sample showed obvious plastic softening characteristics. The cohesion and internal friction angle of the sample are closely related to the water content. The cohesion is the largest in the 45°C dehydrated sample, the internal friction angle is the smallest in the saturated sample, whereas the cohesion is the smallest and internal friction is the largest in the high‐temperature dehydrated sample. The characteristics of failure for the natural and 45°C dehydrated samples are almost the same and most samples show shear or shear‐tensile failure. The shear plane begins at the edge of the end face of the sample and exhibits a typical diagonal shear failure. The high‐temperature dehydrated samples are completely broken under uniaxial and triaxial compression conditions. After high‐strength gypsum powder was used to make the remolded sample, the calcium sulfate disappeared, the water content increased, and the main mineral components of the natural and saturated samples were the same. After dehydration at 45°C, the sample began to release structural water and generate SiO2. After high‐temperature dehydration, the hemihydrate gypsum continued to dehydrate and become soluble anhydrous gypsum.

Rock burst is one of the most serious dynamic disasters in the process of coal resources mining, in order to study its occurrence mechanism and the characteristics of its impact on roadways. Based on the No. 25110 working face of Yuejin Mine in Yi Coal Mine and No. 21032 return air uphill event in Qianqiu Mine, combined with geological conditions, shock location, and source waveform, this paper uses numerical simulation to inverse the dynamic response characteristics of roadway surrounding rock under rock burst. The results show that the plastic strain energy density of No. 25110 working face in Yuejin Mine is mainly distributed around the roadway, and the maximum plastic strain energy density is 3.30 × 107 J at 75 ms, all rock masses around the roadway are damaged, and the maximum damage variable value is 0.44. The plastic strain energy density of No. 21032 return air uphill in Qianqiu mine is mainly distributed around the lower side of the roadway, and the maximum plastic strain energy density is 2.68 × 108 J at 80 ms, all rock masses around the roadway are damaged, and the maximum damage variable value is 1.76, indicating that the rock masses at the roof and two sides of the roadway have been damaged after the impact. Based on the results of numerical simulation, the energy gradient criterion of rock burst tendency was proposed, the degree of energy accumulation of surrounding rock is measured by the change amplitude of energy gradient, and the tendency index of rock burst is quantified, which provides a new method for the prediction of rock burst.

Brazilian split experiments were carried out on coarse sandstone, obtained from a coal seam roof passed by the Shihuoshan tunnel in Xinjiang, and treated at different temperatures (room temperature 25 °C and high temperature 100 °C ~ 900 °C). The physical and mechanical characteristics of the samples were studied. The results showed that: after heat treatment, the color of the coarse sandstone samples gradually changed from dark gray to brownish red-pink; the higher the treatment temperature was, the darker the sample color. Microcracks and mineral composition changes occured in the coarse sandstone samples after heat treatment, which decreased the longitudinal wave velocity of the samples. The longitudinal wave velocity of the coarse sandstone samples decreased as a quadratic function of the treatment temperature. With the increase in longitudinal wave velocity, the tensile strength of the samples first increased and then decreased, changing as a quadratic function relationship. After heat treatment, the tensile stress–strain curve of the coarse sandstone could be divided into compaction, elasticity, plasticity, and failure stages. The energy was continuously accumulated in the coarse sandstone before its failure, and it was released suddenly after the failure. With increasing treatment temperature, the cumulative energy in the prepeak stages first increased and then decreased, reaching a maximum value at 500 °C. The prepeak energy and tensile strength of the coarse sandstone samples satisfied a linear function fitting relationship, indicating that a higher tensile strength in the coarse sandstone, led to more accumulated energy in the samples.
