Cu2O thin film has been widely studied due to its intrinsic p-type conductivity. It can be used as p-type transparent conductive electrode or hole transport layer in various potential applications. However, its intrinsic p-type conductivity is very limited, which needs to be optimized by introducing acceptor defects. In this work, the electrical properties of the Cu2O films was improved through introducing interstitial oxygen in the films those were deposited via direct current sputtering assisted by oxygen ion beam. The results show that with oxygen ion beam current increase, the carrier concentration effectively improves. However, with more interstitial oxygen introduced, the film’s crystallinity significantly reduces, as well as the carrier mobility decreases. Meanwhile, all of the Cu2O films present moderate transmittance in the visible region (400–800 nm), but ideal transmittance in the near infrared (NIR) light region (800–2500 nm). When compared with the strong reflection of the n-type transparent conductive film to the near infrared light, the Cu2O film is transparent conductive in NIR region, which expands its application in the fabrication of NIR electrical devices.

In this paper, the total eclipsing binary WISE J185503.7+592234 (hereinafter J185503), whose mass ratio is around the mass ratio limit, was observed and investigated for the first time. The stellar atmospheric parameters of the primary (more massive) component were calculated by the spectral fitting, and the following results are obtained: Teff = 5747 ±25 K, [Fe/H] = -0.16±0.04 dex, logg= 4.78 ±0.05 cms−2. Although J185503 has a very small amplitude ( ∼ 0.17 mag in V band) and a short period (0.2800782 d), its light curves exhibit total eclipses (eclipse duration: ∼ 40 minutes, which is about 0.1 phase). The light curves derived from TESS exhibit some unusual behavior, such as inversion of the O’Connell effect, exchange of occultation, and transit depths. Photometric solutions obtained from the multi-band observations suggest that J185503 has a particularly low mass ratio (q=0.0514) and a moderate contact degree of |$26\%$|. Based on 103 newly determined times of minimum spanning 14 years, a secular period decrease was found, which is calculated to be dP/dt = −2.24 × 10−7 days yr−1. Through analyzing the instability criterion, such as the instability separation, the instability mass ratio, and the ratio of spin angular momentum (Jspin) to the orbital angular momentum (Jorb), J185503 can be regarded as a progenitor of luminous red novae.

We observed the blazar 2200 + 420 in the I, R, and V bands using the 1.0 m telescope at Weihai Observatory of Shandong University on eight nights in October 2022 and obtained over 3800 data points. Using the F-test and ANOVA test, we analysed the light curves and found intra-day (IDV) variability every night. We found that all variability amplitudes (Amp) are over 10 per cent, except for 2022 October 22, with four nights having amplitudes above 20 per cent and the maximum amplitude reaching over 42 per cent. Additionally, we discovered a minimal variability time-scale of 24.6 min and a bluer-when-brighter (BWB) trend on intra-day for this object. No significant time lag between different bands was detected during the eight nights of observation. Based on the shortest variability time-scale and a model assuming the variations arise close to the central black hole that are adverted into the jet, we estimated the upper limits of the black hole mass to be MBH = 8.6 × 107 M⊙. The BWB trend on intra-day supports the shock-in-jet model, which can also explain the IDV of blazars.

Multi-band photometric observations and period investigations of the total eclipsing binary WISE J141530.7+592234 (hereinafter J141530), whose mass ratio close to the low mass ratio limit, were carried out for the first time. The stellar atmospheric parameters of the primary component were calculated by the spectral fitting, yielding the following results: T eff = 5890 ± 22 K, [Fe/H] = 0.01 ± 0.03 dex, log g = 4.53 ± 0.04 cm s−2. Our observations show that the light curve of V-band on May 2 is about 0.1 mag brighter than that observed in February and March at phase 0.6. Comparing with the small amplitude (about 0.2 mag), the variations are remarkable. Meanwhile, obvious light curve variations and quick reversal of O’Connell effects are found in Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite data, which is likely caused by magnetic activity. Photometric solutions derived from multi-band light curves indicate that J141530 has a high contact degree (f ∼ 70%) and a very low mass ratio (q ∼ 0.0546). Based on the O − C diagram, a long-term period increase was found. The period increase rate is calculated to be dP/dt = 3.90 × 10−7 day yr−1, which can be explained by mass transfer from the low mass component to the large mass component. By analyzing the merging criterion, such as the ratio of spin angular momentum (J spin) to the orbital angular momentum (J orb), the instability separation and the instability mass ratio, J141530 can be regarded as a potential progenitor of luminous red novae.

We demonstrate theoretically and experimentally that complete light transmission can be realized using a photonic heterostructure containing a tunable dielectric layer inserted between two different truncated photonic crystals (PCs). A perfect tunneling state is produced within enlarged photonic band gap (PBG) of the heterostructure by varying the thickness of inserted dielectric layer and the transmittance of the tunneling state depends on the dielectric layer thickness. Additionally, the tunneling state frequency varies with inserted layer thickness but is always located within the small overlapped PBG of two PCs. Therefore, both a perfect tunneling state and an ultrawide PBG can be realized in these heterostructures. The experimental results showed good agreement with theoretical values.
