In this review the application of deep learning for medical diagnosis is addressed. A thorough analysis of various scientific articles in the domain of deep neural networks application in the medical field has been conducted. More than 300 research articles were obtained, and after several selection steps, 46 articles were presented in more detail. The results indicate that convolutional neural networks (CNN) are the most widely represented when it comes to deep learning and medical image analysis. Furthermore, based on the findings of this article, it can be noted that the application of deep learning technology is widespread, but the majority of applications are focused on bioinformatics, medical diagnosis and other similar fields.

This paper conducts a comprehensive review following the PRISMA methodology to explore the evolution and necessity of quality management in the era of Society 5.0, covering publications from 2017 to 2022. Through a meticulous process involving planning, conducting and reporting the review, along with a theory-driven selection and analysis of content, it aims to construct a theoretical model for quality management in Society 5.0. This model underscores the integration of quality management with Society 5.0’s principles, focusing on human-centric technological advancement and addressing social challenges to enhance life quality. The findings reveal a framework that could drive the transition to Society 5.0 by leveraging key inputs for tangible outcomes. The paper’s originality lies in its in-depth analysis and the proposed model’s potential to guide industries and governments towards sustainable development in the context of Society 5.0, marking a valuable contribution to future research in this field.

Competitiveness of domestic enterprises on the international market is practically non-existent. The majority of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face difficulties when it comes to obtaining and maintaining a competitive position on the market. Globalization and business within the domain of the fourth industrial revolution - Industry 4.0, bring challenges for SMEs. Without an adequate quality management system, without the application of ICT and the lack of modern manufacturing equipment, enterprises can't compete on the international market. In this paper managers of domestic enterprises and customers of various products are surveyed. The two separate surveys included the analysis of quality management, product quality, human resource management, marketing strategy, promotional activities, customer satisfaction, perceived quality and brand development. The goal was to define the relations between the measured factors in order to develop a model for improving business and competitiveness of domestic enterprises in Serbia. The model provides significant insight on how could enterprises enhance their businesses and achieve a competitive position on the international market. Additionally, this present paper provides a solid basis for future research in this domain.

The necessity for sustainable development, the coronavirus pandemic, and conducting business within the frameworks of the fourth industrial revolution—Industry 4.0 create a challenging environment where enterprises have difficulties to achieve and maintain competitiveness. Information is becoming a core construct when it comes to conducting business in the modern, globalized business environment. In this paper, the influence of information systems (IS) on sustainable business performance and competitiveness is analyzed. Additionally, the influence of human resource management (HRM) and decision making (DM) on sustainable business performance and competitiveness, as two crucial constructs in the new paradigm of conducting business, are addressed. The relations are discussed from the aspect of sustainable development and future post-pandemic business trends. The main goal is to determine the relations between the noted constructs in a transitional setting. In sum, 184 manufacturing enterprises from Republika Srpska were surveyed via a structured survey, where the focus was on quantifying and modeling the influence of IS, HRM, and DM on sustainable business performance. The results indicate that IS, HRM, DM can affect business performance in a transitional economic setting. This approach is novel, as the existing body of literature does not address all the noted influencing factors on sustainable business performance and competitiveness in a transition economy. Hence, this paper significantly contributes to the existing body of literature and provides a solid basis for future research in this domain.

Youth unemployment rates present an issue both in developing and developed countries. The importance of analyzing entrepreneurial activities comes from their significant role in economic development and economic growth. In this study, a 10-year research was conducted. The dataset included 5670 participants—students from Serbia. The main goal of the study is to attempt to predict entrepreneurial intentions among the Serbian youth by analyzing demographics characteristics, close social environment, attitudes, awareness of incentive means, and environment assessment as potential influencing factors. The data analysis included Chi-square, Welch’s t-test, z-test, linear regression, binary logistic regression, ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) regression, and a QUEST (Quick, Unbiased, Efficient, Statistical Tree) classification tree algorithm. The results are interesting and indicate that entrepreneurial intentions can be partially predicted using the dataset in this current study. Further, most likely due to the robust dataset, the results are not complementary with similar studies in this domain; therefore, these findings expand the current literature and invite future research.

Youth entrepreneurship is important for reducing youth unemployment rates and it overall contributes to economic growth. The main idea of this research is to determine the barriers and challenges that young entrepreneurs face in Serbia. The paper analyzes literature in this domain, and compares the status of youth entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship overall between Serbia, the EU and the US. Furthermore, a theoretical model is developed that includes the application of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies and lean startup approach. The results indicate that taxation regulation and the lack of financial support for new startups are the main barriers that the young face in Serbia. In addition, the lack of adequate entrepreneurial education creates difficulties, and demotivates potential entrepreneurs. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce or modify existing regulatory laws and introduce effective financial support for new enterprises.
