Aim: The aim of the study was to describe the process of developing a Professional Practice Model by a Nursing School and Nursing Department of University Hospital.Design and Method (s): This is a descriptive nursing methodology research, developed along three stages: preliminary, empirical and validation. The empirical phase used qualitative and quantitative methodology. 28 teachers from the nursing school and nurses from the hospital participated. We defined the elements of the nursing meta‐paradigm from narratives and focus group. Then, we extracted propositions regarding the nature of nursing from the relationship between the meta‐paradigm elements, which concluded in the core elements. Results: The core elements of this nursing professional practice model are nursing seeks the well‐being of the person, family or group; nursing is total and global, person‐centred; nursing is compassionate; nursing entails up‐to‐date, quality scientific, technical and human competencies; nursing is delivered in a teaching hospital environment, with a Christian ethical perspective.

Nutritional health is essential for older people with dementia. Their feeding is a challenge for which caregivers are not always ready, and an intervention that supports them may have a significant social impact. The aim of this project is to design and evaluate the impact of systematic nursing intervention with formal caregivers to promote nutritional health for older people with dementia. This is a “Nursing Methodology Research” study conducted with formal caregivers of older people with dementia in four Colombian nursing homes. It includes three consecutive phases: (1) systematic intervention design under Whittemore and Grey’s parameters, (2) intervention validation with seven international experts, and (3) measurement of intervention impact, which included a quasi-experimental pre-test–post-test design. The “Nurturing Neurons—Formal Caregivers” intervention met the criteria of systematic health interventions. In response to the work and personal requirements of formal caregivers, the intervention used a tele-support modality. Its content validity ratio (CVR) ranged from 0.88 to 0.92; its content validity index (CVI) was 0.90. The experience was positive for the participant caregivers (94.9%) and professional providers (92.5%). The overall caregivers’ caring competence changed from the medium, 78.1, to the high category, 91.5 (p < 0.001). Their perceived burden of care changed from 70.4 to 63.6 (p < 0.001). In conclusion, “Nurturing Neurons—Formal Caregivers” achieved a positive impact, with changes in the structure, processes, and outputs to promote the nutritional health of older people with dementia. It led to a significant improvement in formal caregivers’ caring competence and decreased their perceived care burden. Its cost–benefit was favorable; it generated health equity for a vulnerable population and achieved unexpected benefits in the context.
Background/Objective: The H-HT represents a critical vulnerability for patient–family caregiver dyads. This study developed and content-validated a middle-range nursing theory, the Adaptarte Model, designed to guide dyadic adaptation during the H-HT within the Latin American healthcare context. Methods: A sequential exploratory multimethod design was executed in two phases. Phase 1 integrated three evidence streams: clinical practice insights, a JBI-guided scoping review, and two focus groups with transitional care professionals. Qualitative content analysis and iterative consensus refined the model’s core concepts, assumptions, and propositions. Phase 2 evaluated the model’s content, structure, functionality, and projection using an international panel of eleven Latin American experts meeting strict eligibility criteria. Data were analyzed using Lawshe’s Content Validity Ratio (CVR) modified by Tristán (cutoff = 0.58) and the overall Content Validity Index (CVI). Reporting followed PRISMA-ScR and GRAMMS guidelines. Results: Expert consensus confirmed the essential model components. Item-level CVR values ranged from 0.90 to 0.99, yielding an overall CVI of 0.96, while external functionality and conceptual projection achieved an average rating of 0.88. Conclusions: The Adaptarte Model demonstrates high content validity and structural clarity, establishing a rigorous theoretical foundation for subsequent empirical research. Rather than being ready for immediate clinical implementation, it provides a structured blueprint for prospective protocol development. Systematic empirical testing and longitudinal studies are now imperative to evaluate its clinical utility and drive future healthcare transformations. The scoping review protocol was prospectively registered on the Open Science Framework (OSF) URL (accessed on 23 September 2024).
