Dragan Marinković is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Structural Analysis, Technical University of Berlin, and a full professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Nis, Serbia. He obtained a Ph.D. in the scientific field of structural analysis, with a focus on active structures, from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany in 2006. He has participated in more than 30 research and industrial projects and authored/co-authored more than 100 indexed papers. His research interest covers the fields of structural analysis, development and application of finite element method, particularly coupled-field effects and development of FEM for virtual-reality-based real-time simulations, transport, logistics, decision-making problems and optimization.
