Wireless sensor networks (WSN) enable the acquisition of multisource environmental data and crop states in precision agriculture. However, the complex agricultural environment causes the WSN topology to change frequently and link connection probability is difficult to predict. In order to improve the utilization of network resources and balance the network energy consumption, this paper studies an agricultural fault-tolerant topology construction method based on the potential game and cut vertex detection. Considering the connectivity redundancy, node lifetime, and residual energy, a fault-tolerant topology algorithm for agricultural WSN based on a double price function is designed. The network is clustered according to the node location and residual energy to form a single-hop effective cluster. Based on the network cluster, the price function is constructed in order to reduce energy consumption and balance network energy efficiency. The initial transmit power set supporting inter-cluster communication is obtained by potential game theory. While preserving the game characteristics of topology, the redundant links are eliminated and the transmit power is adjusted by a cut vertex detection algorithm to realize the construction of a 2-connected cluster head network. Simulation results show that the network topology constructed by the studied algorithm can balance the energy consumption and prolong the network lifetime effectively.

With poor peak load regulating capacity, renewable energy generation is intermittent and fluctuating, which results in the insufficient acceptance capacity of the power grid. Based on the state-queuing model of aggregate air conditioning loads, this paper develops a control algorithm to achieve renewable energy consumption and output tracking. The load curves of the aggregate air conditioning loads can be controlled by changing the initial temperature distribution. Under different temperature distributions, the load curves represent a fixed fluctuation, which is the basis of output tracking. A virtual load curve set is established based on the state-queuing model. Regarding the load curves as basic signals, the expected renewable energy output can be tracked via an optimal combination of the basic load curves. The validity of the algorithm is testified by numerical emulation data.

When wireless sensor networks (WSN) are deployed in the vegetable greenhouse with dynamic connectivity and interference environment, it is necessary to increase the node transmit power to ensure the communication quality, which leads to serious network interference. To offset the negative impact, the transmit power of other nodes must also be increased. The result is that the network becomes worse and worse, and node energy is wasted a lot. Taking into account the irregular connection range in the cucumber greenhouse WSN, we measured the transmission characteristics of wireless signals under the 2.4 Ghz operating frequency. For improving network layout in the greenhouse, a semi-empirical prediction model of signal loss is then studied based on the measured data. Compared with other models, the average relative error of this semi-empirical signal loss model is only 2.3%. Finally, by combining the improved network topology algorithm and tabu search, this paper studies a greenhouse WSN layout that can reduce path loss, save energy, and ensure communication quality. Given the limitation of node-degree constraint in traditional network layout algorithms, the improved algorithm applies the forwarding constraint to balance network energy consumption and constructs asymmetric network communication links. Experimental results show that this research can realize the energy consumption optimization of WSN layout in the greenhouse.

The Northeast black soil region is a major grain-producing area in China, where county-scale assessment of topsoil quality is essential for soil conservation and provides a potential indicator framework for regional soil quality monitoring. In this study, 500 composite cultivated-layer samples were collected from dryland croplands in Keshan County, Heilongjiang Province. Soil physical properties, basic chemical properties, and macro-, secondary, and micronutrient contents were measured to establish a total data set (TDS). Three hierarchical total data sets (TDS1, TDS2, and TDS3) were established from the original TDS according to the progressive incorporation of soil physical properties, basic chemical properties, macronutrients, secondary nutrients, and micronutrients. Within each hierarchical TDS, key indicators were selected using random forest (RF), mutual information (MI), principal component analysis (PCA), and minimum spanning tree (Tree) methods to construct algorithm-specific minimum data sets (MDSs). TDS1 included soil physical properties, basic chemical properties, and macronutrients; TDS2 further incorporated secondary nutrients; and TDS3 additionally included micronutrients to represent progressively comprehensive soil nutrient information. The soils exhibited considerable soil organic matter and cation exchange capacity, with mean values of 51.45 g kg−1 and 34.85 cmolc kg−1, respectively, and a mean pH of 6.04. Across the four algorithms, commonly retained indicators included SOM, TN, pH, CEC, and Silt, while nutrient-related indicators such as AP, AK, S, Zn, and Fe were additionally selected under different hierarchical MDSs, reflecting the importance of multi-nutrient information in soil quality characterization. Available phosphorus, available potassium, sulfur, and zinc showed greater spatial variability than basic physicochemical properties. The four algorithms differed in indicator selection, reflecting their distinct sensitivities to linear variation, information gain, multilevel contributions, and network structure. RF_MDS1 showed the highest agreement with the TDS (R2 = 0.924), indicating its strong capability in preserving overall soil quality information using a simplified indicator set. RF_MDS3 maintained a high consistency with the TDS (R2 = 0.836) while incorporating additional secondary nutrients and micronutrients. Therefore, RF_MDS3 was considered a more comprehensive MDS framework when multi-nutrient representation and potential nutrient constraint identification were prioritized, whereas RF_MDS1 remained an efficient option for simplified soil quality assessment. This framework may provide a transferable approach for soil quality assessment and nutrient management in comparable black-soil regions and dryland farming systems.

The mechanical characteristics of duckbill seeders, combined with complex environmental disturbances in the field, often lead to quality problems such as exposed seedlings and stem-buried seedlings when mechanically transplanted. These issues directly affect the subsequent yield and efficiency of automated harvesting. This paper is based on the YOLOv11 architecture and studies an automatic recognition model (Yolov11-ARM) for the transplanting quality of cabbage seedlings. The model applies a custom CPNMViTBv3 backbone that integrates Transformer-based global context modeling with efficient CNN feature reuse, replacing the standard C3f module to more effectively capture structural details in seedlings. The detection head is augmented with multi-scale feature aggregation and a lightweight SENetV2 attention mechanism, enhancing discriminative capability for small seedling instances. Additionally, a dynamically adaptive loss function for keypoint estimation is introduced, which adjusts according to object scale and error distribution, thereby ensuring training stability and robust localization performance. Experimental results show a high mean Average Precision (mAP@0.5) of 98.7% for seedling status (object) detection and 99.5% for keypoint localization with the studied model. This research provides an effective technical solution for the real-time, multi-parameter quality assessment of automated transplanting.
