Prof. Rosa Tundis is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, Health and Nutritional Sciences of the University of Calabria. She was trained in the fields of natural compound chemistry and bioactivity. She received her Master’s degree in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technologies in 1998 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Calabria, Italy. During this training, she became interested in the fact that natural compounds have been used to treat many diseases for centuries and became aware of the ability of many plants and food constituents to prevent several human diseases of high social impact, including diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. Thus, she decided to further pursue these research activity areas. She specialized in Clinical Pathology (1999–2003). During this period, she worked at the University of Paris (France) for 6 months at the Laboratoire de Pharmacognosie Faculté des Sciences Pharmaceutiques et Biologiques. In 2005, she became a Researcher in the Department of Pharmacy, Health and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Calabria. Since 2014, she has been an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Biology at the University of Calabria.
