Oral cancer represents one of the most prevalent malignancies worldwide, characterized by high morbidity and mortality rates primarily due to late diagnosis, limited therapeutic efficacy, systemic toxicity, and recurrence following conventional treatments. Traditional chemotherapeutic drugs, while effective to a certain extent, often suffer from poor bioavailability, nonspecific targeting, and multidrug resistance, highlighting the importance of innovative therapeutic strategies. Nanomedicine has emerged as a promising alternative, providing site-specific delivery, enhanced drug stability, and improved therapeutic outcomes. Among various nanoparticles (NPs), metal oxide nanoparticles (MONPs), such as zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, and copper oxide, have demonstrated potent anticancer activity due to their high surface area, tunable physicochemical properties, and ability to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS). Recent progress in green synthesis approaches, employing plant extracts, microbes, and biopolymers as reducing and stabilizing agents, has further advanced the development of biocompatible and eco-friendly NPs. These green-synthesized NPs minimize toxic byproducts and allow their functionalization with herbal compounds and conventional drugs, offering synergistic effects against oral cancer. This review highlights the limitations of traditional treatments, examines the role of nanomedicine, and discusses the application of green-synthesized MONPs as drug delivery platforms for oral cancer management. It also addresses challenges such as standardization, scalability, safety concerns, and regulatory barriers, while outlining future perspectives that integrate green nanotechnology with precision medicine. Collectively, green nanomedicine offers a sustainable and innovative paradigm with the potential to revolutionize oral cancer therapy.

Precision medicine, which relies on genomic, multi-omic, phenotypic, and environmental data, has the potential to transform healthcare from population-focused heuristics to individualized prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Moreover, recent advances in sequencing, molecular profiles, wearable sensors, and machine learning have created opportunities for rapid translational innovation: rapid genomic diagnosis in neonatal and paediatric rare diseases, targeted oncology, pharmacogenomic-based prescribing strategies, and individual sport performance. Nevertheless, the vast majority of innovations remain in centers of specialism or pilot programs, rather than routinely or equitably integrated into clinical or athletic practice. This narrative review synthesizes translational evidence across the life course—in pregnancy, paediatrics, adult medicine, geriatrics, and sportomics—to find reproducible clinical and performance examples which enable precision-based alternative approaches to management, outcome, or preparation; and to reshape those examples into pragmatic, scalable priorities which minimize inequity, and maximize benefit. We undertook a structured narrative synthesis of peer-reviewed literature, trials, clinician translation programs, implementation studies, and sportomics reports, prioritizing examples that demonstrate utility, reproducibility, and impact. Important findings suggest that multi-omics and rapid sequencing improve diagnostic yield and time to diagnosis. Molecular profiling and circulating tumor DNA help realize adaptive treatment selection. Integrated genomics, metabolomics, wearable physiology, and AI analytics facilitate individualized training, injury-risk stratification, and recovery optimization. But systematic value is limited by insufficient representative validation, dataset bias, poor interoperability, regulatory uncertainty, workforce preparedness, and inequities of access. Converting a promise into population- and performance-level value requires coordinated action across four fronts: representative validation; interoperable, privacy-preserving infrastructures; clinician- and coach-centered implementation; and templates for scalable, cost-sensitive deployment.

The accelerating global demand for sustainable energy, driven by population growth, industrialization, and environmental concerns, has intensified the search for renewable alternatives to fossil fuels. Biofuels, including bioethanol, biodiesel, biogas, and biohydrogen, offer a viable and practical pathway to reducing net carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Yet, their large-scale production remains constrained by biomass recalcitrance, high pretreatment costs, and the enzyme-intensive nature of conversion processes. Recent advances in enzyme immobilization using magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs), covalent organic frameworks, metal–organic frameworks, and biochar have significantly improved enzyme stability, recyclability, and catalytic efficiency. Complementary strategies such as cross-linked enzyme aggregates, carrier-free immobilization, and site-specific attachment further reduce enzyme leaching and operational costs, particularly in lipase-mediated biodiesel synthesis. In addition to biocatalysis, nanozymes—nanomaterials exhibiting enzyme-like activity—are emerging as robust co-catalysts for biomass degradation and upgrading, although challenges in selectivity and environmental safety persist. Green synthesis approaches employing plant extracts, microbes, and agro-industrial wastes are increasingly adopted to produce eco-friendly nanomaterials and bio-derived supports aligned with circular economy principles. These functionalized materials have demonstrated promising performance in esterification, transesterification, and catalytic routes for biohydrogen generation. Technoeconomic and lifecycle assessments emphasize the need to balance catalyst complexity with environmental and economic sustainability. Multifunctional catalysts, process intensification strategies, and engineered thermostable enzymes are improving productivity. Looking forward, pilot-scale validation of green-synthesized nano- and biomaterials, coupled with appropriate regulatory frameworks, will be critical for real-world deployment.

Polymers are fundamental components of modern pharmaceutical manufacturing, serving critical roles as excipients, binders, coatings, and matrices for controlled drug delivery systems. However, the conventional production of pharmaceutical polymers relies heavily on petrochemical feedstocks, energy-intensive processes, and hazardous solvents, leading to significant environmental and economic burdens. In recent years, increasing regulatory pressure, environmental awareness, and sustainability goals have driven the pharmaceutical industry toward greener manufacturing strategies. This review critically examines sustainable green polymer production for pharmaceutical applications, with a focus on both environmental and economic impacts. The review discusses the role of polymers in pharmaceutical manufacturing, outlines the limitations of conventional polymer synthesis, and highlights the relevance of green chemistry principles in addressing these challenges. Key green polymer synthesis techniques, including biopolymer production, enzymatic polymerization, microwave-assisted synthesis, supercritical CO2 processing, and the use of ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents, are systematically evaluated. Additionally, life-cycle assessment (LCA) approaches are explored to assess the environmental performance of green polymer processes in comparison with traditional methods. Beyond environmental sustainability, this review emphasizes the importance of pharmacoeconomic evaluation in determining the feasibility of adopting green polymers at an industrial scale. Cost–benefit analyses, manufacturing cost comparisons, long-term economic advantages, and health–economic outcomes are discussed in the context of pharmaceutical supply chains. Regulatory perspectives, industrial implementation challenges, and future directions are also addressed. Overall, this review highlights sustainable polymer innovation as a critical pathway toward environmentally responsible, economically viable, and future-ready pharmaceutical manufacturing.

HER2-low breast cancer, also known as IHC 1+ or IHC 2+ without ERBB2 amplification, is a new concept in the biology of breast cancer that has removed the binary classification of HER2-positive or HER2-negative breast cancer. The recent introduction of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), such as trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd), has improved therapeutic outcomes for HER2-low breast cancer by demonstrating high efficacy in HER2-low tumors through efficient payload delivery. However, differences in ADC efficacy exist among HER2-low breast cancer patients, with tumor cells showing resistance to ADCs. Recent research indicates that the tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a critical role in determining the efficacy of ADCs against tumor cells. TME creates a barrier to the delivery of ADCs to tumor cells that show resistance to ADCs. This review article aims to highlight the current understanding of the biology of HER2-low breast cancer and its response to ADCs with reference to the tumor microenvironment.

Obesity has emerged as one of the most complex and urgent public health challenges of the twenty-first century, driven by genetic, environmental, metabolic, and psychosocial determinants that collectively disturb energy homeostasis and systemic health. It is characterized by adipose tissue dysfunction, insulin resistance, chronic low-grade inflammation, and gut microbiota dysbiosis, all of which interact to perpetuate metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Beyond the biological dimension, obesity profoundly affects mental health, being closely linked to depression, anxiety, body-image dissatisfaction, and stigma, which further reduce adherence to treatment. Current therapeutic strategies rely on a stepped-care approach, beginning with lifestyle interventions encompassing dietary modification, physical activity, and behavioral therapy. Pharmacologic treatments, particularly incretin-based agents such as semaglutide, liraglutide, and tirzepatide have transformed medical management through substantial and sustained weight loss, while bariatric surgery remains the most effective long-term option for severe obesity. Emerging approaches, including gene therapy, microbiome modulation, and nanomedicine, offer mechanistically targeted and potentially safer alternatives, though they remain largely experimental. Pharmacoeconomic analyses support the cost-effectiveness of combining behavioral, pharmacological, and surgical modalities, highlighting the economic advantage of integrated care models. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence and machine learning are redefining obesity research and management, enhancing cancer risk prediction, personalizing pharmacotherapy, optimizing resource allocation, and enabling precision medicine through multi-omics and imaging integration. Collectively, these insights support a shift toward a learning health-system paradigm that unites mechanistically anchored therapies with digital and AI-driven personalization to achieve sustainable weight reduction, reduce cardiometabolic and cancer burden, and improve global health outcomes.
