Cimpoesu Nicanor is a prof. habil. phd. eng. that started the analysis of special metallic alloys with the effect of shape memory in the stage of preparing the doctorate thesis in 2004.  In 2018, he presented his habilitation thesis: Contribution to the evaluation and improvement of materials properties by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. Cimpoesu N. has an international reputation proved by publishing 159 with FI, 104 with FI˃1 (43Q1 and 61 Q2), and 20 articles as the main author. Most of his research is realized in the field of metallic materials as biodegradable materials, shape memory alloys, biomaterials and corrosion resistance of the metallic alloys. Nicanor C. has 1018 citations on Web of Knowledge of which 673 are without auto-citation, being the main author of two of the most cited articles. The author has the Hirsh factor 19 in 2024 (WoS), 20 (1236 citations on Google Scholars) and 19 (1070 on Scopus – H index: 12 for citations without the citations of all the co-authors).  As ESIM laboratory coordinator, (https://esimsim.ro/ ) the PI developed the 3D analysis part of the scanning electron microscopy correlating the surface results from the SE image to the AFM results and developing a new approach for 3D scanning analyses using SEM equipment. Three PhD students, under Nicanor Cimpoesu coordination, successfully defended their thesis in 2023.
