Petar Kassal is an Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, where he is currently also Head of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry. He received a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering and applied chemistry from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 2015, working on mobile and wireless (bio) chemical sensors. His research encompasses electrochemical and optical sensor and biosensor development, electroanalysis, environmental chemistry, wearable sensors, smart bandages, and functional nanomaterials. He is currently focused on scalable (bio)chemical sensor fabrication technologies. He is the recipient of multiple scientific and innovation awards and a member of the Steering Board of the Croatian Chemical Society.
