Information

He received the Laurea degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Genova in 1986. From 1986 to 1990, he was employed in the R&D departments of industries operating in the field of factory automation. In 1990 he joined the University of Genoa as a researcher; from 1998 to 2005, he was an associate professor at the University of Ancona; since March 2005, he has served as a Full Professor of Machine Mechanics at the Polytechnic University of Marche in Ancona. He participated in many national and international research projects, often as principal investigator. He is currently the coordinator of the program Human Digital Flexible “Factory of the Future” Laboratory and Responsible of the i-LABS Laboratory. Moreover, he is the coordinator of the Macro-node @univPM of the Competence Center Artes 4.0. He has been Chairman of the board of teachers of the Mechanical Engineering degrees and used to sit on the “Board of Examiners” of the European Master in "Automotive Engineering" delivered by the University of Hertfordshire at Hatfield (UK) and in the Scientific Committee of “IMrob - International Master on Robotics”. He is the author or co-author of more than 200 scientific papers, holder of two patents, General Chair of International Conferences, Associate Editor of the ASME J Mechanical Design, and member of ASME and IFToMM Italy. His main research fields are mechatronics, industrial and advanced robotics, and the design of mechanical systems.
