Dr. Francisco Leitão is an invited principal researcher at CCMAR, where he leads the research group Ecology and restoration of riverine, estuarine, and coastal habitats, University of Algarve, Portugal. He completed his BSc in marine biology and fisheries at the University of Algarve—Gambelas Campus, PgC in geographical information systems (SIG) in 2003 at the Nova University in Lisbon, MSc in marine ecology in 2004 at the University of Coimbra, and PhD in marine sciences and population dynamics (fisheries sciences) in 2009 at the University of Algarve.
