Prof. Sergio Fantini is Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Principal Investigator of the Diffuse Optical Imaging of Tissue (DOIT) lab at Tufts University. His research activities on the application of diffuse optics to biological tissues resulted in about 120 peer-reviewed scientific publications and 12 patents. He co-authored with Prof. Irving Bigio (Boston University, Boston, MA USA) a textbook on "Quantitative Biomedical Optics" published by Cambridge University Press in 2016. He is a Fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), Optica, and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
