Advancement in nanotechnology has unleashed the therapeutic potentials of dietary polyphenols by enhancing bioavailability, improving biological half-life, and allowing site-specific drug delivery. In this review, through citation of relevant literature reports, we discuss the application of nano-pharmaceutical formulations, such as solid lipid nanoparticles, nano-emulsions, nano-crystals, nano-polymersomes, liposomes, ethosomes, phytosomes, and invasomes for dietary polyphenols. Following this, we highlight important studies concerning different combinations of nano formulations with dietary polyphenols (also known as nanophytopolyphenols). We also provide nano-formulation paradigms for enhancing the physicochemical properties of dietary polyphenols. Finally, we highlight the latest patents that were granted on nano-formulations of dietary polyphenols. Based on our review, we observe that nanosized delivery of herbal constituents, spices, and dietary supplements have the ability to improve biological processes and address issues connected with herbal treatments.

An ever-growing global concern is the degradation and pollution of natural resources, including soil, air, and water, mostly brought about by human activity. All organisms feel the immediate and long-term effects of environmental pollution; hence, finding ways to encounter this problem is a top priority of researchers and environmental activists. It is widely believed that engineered nanomaterials (ENs) are significantly impacting the field of environmental science and engineering, as it stands now. Nanoscale science has generated innovative and economical technology for various ecological problems, including catalytic degradation, adsorptive elimination, and pollutant recognition. ENs refer to a class of materials that exhibit diverse characteristics beyond those of their constituents. These materials can demonstrate exceptional mechanical, chemical, electrical, optical, and catalytic capabilities. They have distinctive properties that make them ideal for use in numerous industrial and technological applications, including but not limited to energy storage, biomedical engineering, and environmental remediation. This chapter will explore the synthesis and applications of ENs. The chapter summarizes the potential role of ENs in detecting industrial pollutants and the impact of ENs on the energy, electronics, chemical, and space industries. Additionally, we will discuss practical healthcare applications and plans to expand these ENs. <!----> <!----> <!----> <!---->

Dementia is a diverse category of chronic and progressive disorder, which is commonly associated with a loss of memory, difficulty in judgment, impaired language, cognitive impairment, and various other symptoms that affect a person’s daily routine life and social life. Dementia affects about 50 million people around the globe. Dementia exists in varied forms and is associated with various neurodegenerative disorders. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form, which accords for about 60% of thecases. Abnormal agglomeration of proteins in the brain has been linked to the pathogenesis of dementia. Autophagy is a necessary protein clearance mechanism, which is dependent on lysosomes. It is a basic physiological process that performs the crucial function of maintaining protein homeostasis within the cells. The autophagic dysfunction in dementia further complicates the disease by hampering the degradation and removing abnormal pathogenic proteins. In order to understand autophagic dysfunction, it is essential to know the genetics of autophagy as well as the mutations This understanding at the genetic level helps definethe relationship between dementia and autophagic dysfunction for developing the potential remedies for the treatment of dementia.
